I suffer with mental health problems and this talk has really helped me. Especially the part about identifying with the Knower and not the known. My thoughts, memories and delusions are just that and periferal. It has stopped me identifying myself with my diagnosis which is a relief as it is not all. Thank you. Peace, love and joy.

The reality is that for hundreds of thousands of years of human history (that has been forgotten because it was before history was recorded), women ran communities, society, families and were the spiritual upkeepers for us all being priestesses, oracles, shamans etc. The evidence for this are the talismans, deities, objects etc that have been dug up from megalithic/stone age populations and beyond. I saw something which said, if the whole of human history was the length of a year, the stone age lasted until 31 Dec @ 1600. In hunter gatherer societies, the men did not run the communities, women did. All men did was go out every few weeks, drunk/high, and come back, if lucky, with some meat. Often, they didn't and communities survived on the berries etc that the women had picked. Children just would not have survived without the love, care, support and devotion of women. Look at your typical mother with children and see how hard she works, selflessly. Most men do not have the capacity to just work that hard in the same way. At some point, men (who were largely useless, lets be honest!), supressed women through strength, violence and cemented themselves in culture via religion and the birth of civilisation (i.e. cities). We have (and still are) supressed the feminine, because men are highly insecure and actually, humanity does not need men, only their sperm to procreate. Many females animals eat their mates after mating because they serve no further purpose. Their job is done and they must now sacrifice themselves for the future spawn. I am speaking as a cis gendered man and gained this wisdom from having watched many ancient history documentaries and visiting museums with ancient objects. Through this, it became very clear to me the injustice the egos of men have subjected women to.

There is no word in this teaching about feminine vs masculine path, about leadership or other artificial concepts created by our minds. This is about discovering our true nature and the infinite paths you can take to achieve enlightenment.

Incredible; Her teaching ranges from Samatha, Vipassana (including cognitive behavior theory/therapy principles) through identity clinging/disturbance all the way to pure vision teachings, the most down to earth and stripped down, accurate teachings on pure vision and tantra I remember ever hearing. Bless you, Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo, and thank you for your life, your attainment and your generosity.

There is a nice informative documentary of Venerable Palmo’s journey. Meetings filmed with His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, and her other teachers as well as what she is doing to help women monastics get better access to scripture education including debate practices to sharpen understanding of the teachings. Jetsumma Tenzin Palmo is pretty impressive as a teacher and communicator of the practice. Documentary is called “cave in the snow”

my answer to the question about Master-Disciple relationships: You will recognize a genuine Master after allowing their ENERGY - Presence to reveal itself to you, to show you, in a little time, or a little more time, what happens to you as a result of their Presence. You will FEEL, SENSE, who & what they are. If they are GENUINE you will feel God-goodness-positive feelings & dreams. This might be immediate, it might take days, weeks, sometimes longer. If the Master is genuine, living or dead, they will grant you answers to prayer or you can ask them questions & they will answer you mentally within a day or more. They will also help you with problems or needs, anything you present to them. A problem that occurs is when a disciple believes in a living person too quickly, & like Her Holiness explains, there are many fakes out there. Some of them have skills & abilities. {Haha, look at the preachers on Trinity Broadcasting, the prosperity preachers, they are sales people looking to make money, very persuasive. Part 2 next post.

I met this woman, didn't know who she was but as she looked familiar I enthusiastically and respectfully asked if she lived at a temple I visited in London. She said no, somewhat puzzled I began to ask where she was based, when she arrogantly dismissed me, as though shooing me away, saying I can't talk I have to go. I didn't act like I was minding my own business going to my car and she came in front of me about to get into her chauffeur driven car. My point is that whilst they put on piety when in an audience with the Dalai Lama or fake wisdom on camera. If you encounter them in person they are worse than ordinary people, who would generally give you the time of day. These supposed religious people have more vices than the rest of us, and gargantuan egos. This happened at a small celebration of select people for the Dalai Lama's birthday. Hence people truly involved with Buddhism, not some random people. People find your own way, don't listen to these charlatans in robes because they're in it only for themselves and will not help you. Once a fishmongers daughter always a....

Do you see that your way of greeting her is all about you...everything in your account is all about you "a temple I visited," "somewhat puzzled," "as though shooing me away," "I was minding my business," "a small celebration of select people....Hence people truly involved with Buddhism," the last being a curious way to describe buddhists. "Select people"? In other words everything in your paragraph is about distinctions with you somehow being excluded from the narrative of people 'deserving attention.' If you had simply asked her name as opposed to where she fit into your life, perhaps you would have gotten a more responsive answer. It may be about you is the point I'm making...and your blanket condemnation of"charlatans in robes" really gives away the game. Yes, there are charlatans, but she is most certainly not one of them. It is really all about your hurt feelings, your bruised ego...she gave you a gift.

Very interesting. I do research on how Buddhism disappeared in Bihar. I realized it never disappeared from Bihar. Buddhists simply failed to research Indian Buddhism. They looked at Buddhism through the sphere of their own cultures searching for only the Buddha. Buddha had a myriad of names in different villages according to his teachings there. Example. His favorite teaching was 'Lust and desire causes pain. Remove lust and desire, and pain is removed'. Translated into Bihari (where the Buddha story took place) it is DHUKH HARAN meaning to remove dukha. Three dozen villages pray to DUKH HARAN Baba. Its clear that DUKH HARAN Baba is none other than the Buddha. Problem is Buddhists are searching only for the Buddha. In the real Vaishali the Buddha begged for alms. The locals there pray to 'BHIKHAINI' Baba (Beggar Baba). Bhikhaini was mispronounced by Buddhists as Bhikshu. Who is BHIKHAINI Baba. The Buddha no doubt. But people are searching for a man called Buddha. In the real Vaishali, in Beluha the Buddha suffered a sickness and felt he had grown old. The locals pray to 'BURHA' Baba (Old Baba). Who is BURHA Baba. The Buddha no doubt. In the real Vaishali the Lichavies pressurized Buddha not to die. They trailed him to Bandagawan pressurizing him not to die. To put pressure in Hindi is DABESHWAR. Three dozen villages around the stupa where Buddha gave the Lichavies his patra, the villagers pray to Baba 'DABESHWAR NATH' meaning the man who won the pressurizing game. It was the the Buddha no doubt as he gave the Lichavies his patra and succeded in sending them back. But Buddhists are searching for the Buddha. Forgive me for commenting out of the topic. I just wanted to impart this information to you. Thanks to Xuan Zang, as I located the villages the Buddha was prayed to as a local deity, Xuan Zang also took me to fifty Buddha relic stupas including Ashoka's first Buddha relic stupa and two of his own relic stupas.
