Hello hello, I hope you enjoyed this episode! Btw. I've noticed that the average price of this (and many other cameras) is going up, so it wasn't as easy to find a good deal as a while ago, but still as I showed you, I was able to find some offers for pretty cheap. Also keep in mind that this camera is nothing exclusive - there are lots of cameras from that era which are all similar in quality and price :) Much love to Squarespace for the continuous support of the channel! Head to www.squarespace.com/teocrawford to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain by using the code "TEOCRAWFORD" (also supports the channel). Wishing you a lovely week!

One of the things I like about your videos is that you show the photos you take. Many photography channels take photos left and right but they rarely show the photos and let the viewer know how they turn out haha. It's always a blast to watch you walk us through your creative process when shooting, it makes me get out there and look at ordinary things with different eyes.

Because they just act like they know how to make photos. But they struggle to really take good photos or are not confident enough to show them. I take photos for 20 years now and never ever had the balls to print some and show them as the art they are supposed to be in my mind. Just now a week ago i ordered the first print of my works ever because i finally feel confident enough that its really worth it :'D

@@nicoschroeder5379 That's a good point, especially the dichotomy between the vision you've when taking the photos and how the photos turn out. Over the weekend I took a few dozen photos and I only ended up with like 3 photos that I liked somewhat; the rest were honestly crap. I'm also an amateur so I think my photos will be crappy for awhile haha. It's as Teo and his friends say though, there's no guarantee of a great photo but you must get out there and shoot for that to even be possible in the first place. Glad you felt confident enough to have your work printed. That must feel great :)!

As someone starting my film photography journey, I greatly appreciate your gentle style of storytelling and education. Helps me feel like I'm learning from a friend instead of an instructor. But I think more importantly I really enjoy the pace and style of your videos. Living in the states it's hard not to feel like the world is on some level always on fire. But you show a part of the world that feels peaceful. It's a breath of fresh air. Thanks again 📸

Hi Teo! I Was doing a interrail trip with some friend’s trough Europe. We visited Innsbruck for three days and it was awesome. The old city, the mountains, the small villages everything was so beautiful. The best thing about Innsbruck for me was to try out taking pictures inspired by you though, you are such a calm and creative person and that really inspires me to both take better photos and be a better person. Thank you for being you and doing what you love. All love from Sweden// Teo Svensson🥰

The ergonomics of the circles really tempts me way more than it should, as I Do Not need another point and shoot lmao. Design that keeps your finger out of frame is underrated lol. Right now settling into the Minolta Freedom iii ( I think it's earlier in this same line) and it sits pretty well in the value proposition here in the US on ebay at least. Some trades to be made (big, can't turn flash off) but a 35 f2.8 in a cheap and solid body worth a shot.

@teocrawford6 ай бұрын
Good timing for this question haha: I hadn't realised that the .xmp files I was uploading to Patreon were only compatible with Lightroom on the computer, not on mobile. However thanks to some Patrons recently telling me about this and asking for mobile versions I've begun to add those. So June's preset I uploaded in two versions, one for Pc and one for mobile. I will be going back through my backlog and add a mobile version to all of my previous presets from the past for the Patrons to download, however that'll take some time still, but I will try to get around to it soon :)

Do you edit or touch them up a little in post?
@teocrawford6 ай бұрын
Hard to say… have you scanned film before? If not, you of course wouldn’t know, but it’s a little tricky to tell where editing begins in this process. Even simply scanning with a certain brand or a camera makes a difference and then the conversion software makes a difference. Personally I use Negative Lab Pro and rarely make further changes after converting the negative. However inside of Negative Lab Pro I always make adjustments, which are necessary most of the time, because Negative Lab Pro does not interpret every negative perfectly (it’s only software after all). And so I often have to make changes (some lighter and some more severe) to especially the white balance and tint, the tonal values and subtle hues in different tonal areas of the image. Some might call this editing, some will not. Personally I agree with the latter, because I consider what I do to be more accurately described as “color correcting” rather than editing which implies “colour grading”. I hope that can help you in any way :)

@@teocrawford wow, what a brilliant detailed response. I appreciate you taking the time and giving me more insight into what goes on, especially with scanning of the film itself, thank you!
