Let me add some stuff: -You start with I believe 4000 production points and it increases by the amount of character with proficiency of artisan or master in your account. -Getting the 3 gathering's to lvl 6 in a character gives you an inventory expansion. -Usually you find basic materials like plain stones, veridia root, mushroom cap, achromic essence in low level zones (like arcadia and poporia) -The new resources, duranium ore and duranium crystals, can be found in exodor.

I'm confused. Returning player, lvl 53. It seems like they completely gutted the old crafting system which I remember as being like every other MMO's crafting system, and now we can't craft literally anything until hitting lvl 65??

You can craft at any level, you just need the design. Most designs can be bought at a crafting merchant, or at the fishing merchant for cooking recipes. You also need the crafting level for the design you want to use (some don't require any crafting level). For example for alchemy, rubies are a good design for leveling up crafting proficiency. teralore.com/us/item/28604/

I’m on PS4 with a ninja class and I can’t smelt for sum reason. I would get the materials to smelt but I’m not able to access the counter at all. It’s been doing this ever since the beginning of 2019 after an update. 2018 would let me smelt but there was no requirement to actually access it. I haven’t smelt in 2 yrs bc most my quests never wants me to but I decided to go into smelting bc I want to knock off all the quests that requires me to do it. Since then, almost everyone keeps saying it’s not possible to not access it, and tbh I’m getting frustrated trying to tell them that I cannot access it bc there’s sum block or requirement I have to do. (I tried on slayer class, one of the basic classes that existed since the initial launch and it’s still doing the same thing)

For crafting you need designs. If you have the design but you cannot learn it, then your crafting level is not high enough. You have to level the skill to 500/500, then do the artisan test. Then it will say 500/800, so you have to level to 800, and then take the master test.

Ive been playing Tera for 3 yrs straight and never knew it’s been built as a tab in my menu >.< sry I’m just dumb or I can’t read. I’ve been trying to access the counter just like I’ve always done before the new update for crafting. It’s basically portable smelting. I’m sry for wasting your time, I can finally read the tab 😅😅😅

Ohhhhhhhh, I know what you mean now. When I started playing there was still a stamina mechanic and you had to recharge stamina at campfires. Crafting was only possible at stations and at campfires, but they removed that mechanic and campfires the same year. They changed crafting so you don't need to go to the crafting area every time, since before you could just put down a campfire to craft anywhere.

YUKATI Gaming I miss the old times when you had to do it, I liked the realistic gameplay then. Now, everything is either in the menu or on you lol but I still enjoy the game as it was in the initial launch date.

Quick question: Do you need to have the crafting supplies in your personal inventory or can you keep them in the bank? (Yes I am a Noob!)

If it can be stored in the bank, then I usually do that, because it takes less slots in total than having the mats on each character separately. The item description tells you if an item cannot be stored in the bank.

No, crafting designs only work on the character you use them on.

I think etching would be the best choice right now, because you need to be artisan at least if you want to make the new etchings. Those are still quite hard to make and expensive though. If you level up processing on the other character, then you can also make some of the materials you need for etchings.

I never tried crafting at really low levels, but I don't think there is a minimum character level for crafting. There is a minimum crafting level for learning some designs, but for the rest, you just need the design, and materials.

Open the enchanting window and put your gathering tool in there. It will show you what you need as materials for the upgrade.

Did you check the crafting window to see if you can find gathering tools in the smelting tab? I don't know if there are gathering tools in the console version of TERA. The console version was behind the PC version by several patches when it was released, and after the awakening patch they started making new patches specifically for console, which we never got on PC. Your gear sets are also different from what we have on PC.

Mmm..... either here is huge gap in information or then the devs just have not bothered to remove old recipes from the list. The npc no more sells temporary tools nor any npc sell the recipe for speedy gathering tool 1

They changed the three different gathering tools into one that works for all resources. Go to the smelting merchant in Highwatch or Velika for example. There you can buy the design for the speedy gathering tool I.

Yeah, the music was too loud, I used a very cheap mic, and the EQ I put on the mic was no good. I think it got way better once I changed those three things. Also, thanks : )
