Terceira is a volcanic island in the Azores archipelago, in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is also the location of the Azores' oldest city, Angra do Heroísmo, the historical capital of the archipelago and UNESCO World Heritage Site. The towns in the Azores aren't usually super charming, but Angra is definitely different!
The island has two main seaports, one at Angra do Heroísmo and the other at Praia da Vitória, and a commercial airport integrated with the flight operations at Base Aérea nº 4. The Portuguese bullfight is popular on the island, coming in two variations: the traditional equestrian bullfight (in the ring) and the popular "touradas à corda" that occur in the streets.

[PL] Terceira to wulkaniczna wyspa w archipelagu Azorów, pośrodku północnego Oceanu Atlantyckiego. To tutaj znajduje się historyczna stolica archipelago, Angra do Heroísmo, wpisana na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO. Miasta na Azorach zazwyczaj nie zbyt urocze, ale Angra jest zupełnie inna!
Na wyspie znajdują się dwa główne porty morskie, jeden w Angra do Heroísmo, a drugi w Praia da Vitória, oraz komercyjne lotnisko zintegrowane z operacjami lotniczymi w Base Aérea nr 4. Walki byków mają tutaj swoją tradycję, występując w dwóch odmianach: tradycyjne walki w ringu oraz popularne „touradas à corda”, które odbywają się na ulicach.

Thank you for this amazing video about my home land. There are yayyy too many videos about Sao Miguel but not as much about other islands including Terceira.

I recall reading "sheets of rain" in books about 19th century sailing adventures. When I lived there I finally saw it. The storm clip does not do it justice. The rain comes thick like a wave crashed over the bow. Amazing. The tight little squares of land with the drone shot directly overhead are for wine plots in Bisqotos. Individual families form miles around have a nice plot there. It is a lava flow to the sea, 100% black, flowing rocks. The rest of the shore line is 97% sheer cliffs dropping 100-200 feet to boulders as big as cars.

I have ancestors that live here until the middle of the 1900s planning on visiting soon to see the chapel they were all baptized at.

It also has a hollow volcano you can walk inside down a staircase, among other natural beauty. Terceira has it all

@toad toadersson The name of that volcano is "Algar do Carvão". I also recommend visiting the caves, "Gruta do Natal" and "Gruta das Agulhas". Another walking trek worth doing in the interior of the island is "Rocha do Chambre", "Morro Assombrado" and "Alagoas da Agualva", just to name a few.
