Hello again. I know, I know, I said that I wanted to post less, now. I am aware that I broke my own... promise, my own... rule. But there are 2 Thigns I have to say. And these are: 1. I wanted to thank you that you have translated and posted one of my most favorite Videos almost a Week ago. THANK YOU for that Sir. Thanks again Pal. And 2. HOLY SHIT !!!! I never, never, notice it until now. I vow. I am being honest now. Honestly, truly, I never noticed the difference. I also love this song. This is also among some of my favorite Songs, and as somebody else here already pointed out, Paula Tusi also sung it. And mostly I am listening to her version. I have also checked other Cover Versions. And I knew this cover version before today. I have listen to it a quiet few times, but not as much as Paula Tsuis Version. And when I listen to other Cover Versions like this one, I assume,... I belive..., I guess..., well... I maybe, perhaps, never really, really listen to it. At least not carefully enough. As it seems. Because today I was listening to it AND reading the Lyrics and the Translation and the very last line was a suprise. I do not think I have ever heard it before. And I was like: "What the F--?!? Heh?!?" I know this song, and although I do NOT, repeat not speak any Cantonese, if the Lyrics are displayed, I can sing along. Very, very, very poorely. And with a strong accent. A indeed very strong accent. And the prononciation of words are all over the place, they are so, so wrong. But nevertheless I can sing along. But for whatever reason I could not sing the last line. I only could sing it with the Lyrics displayed, because the last line is so unfamiliar. It is because in Paula Tsui's version of this song, this line is obmitted, it's not present, it's not there. Here I thought all the years, Terence Tsoi's Cover was a 1: 1 Cover, but today I noticed that he actually added a last tine. I guess, I specualte, I belive, I only notice today, because this time I was really paying attention and also because the Lyrics are present on the Screen and so you kinda, sorta, have to read it too. And then you notice it and you go like "What?! This line is unfamiliar to me.... it feels ood" And then you resarch and you find ou why. You realize why. Because in Pauals Version the line does not exist. True story. I never noticed until now. And I also did a little research. I have long time ago, downloaded some Karaoke Versions, and different Instrumental Versions, like Instrumental Guzheng Cover, or Instrumental Erhu Cover of Instrumental Piano Cover. And then I try to sing this Version of the Song, but it does not work, because the last line does not fit within the music. Seems all the Karaoke and Instrumental Versions are covering the Paula Tsui / Tong Li / Chen Ru Jia / Roman Tam, etc. Versions. They all do not have the last tine. The Music is different, they do not leave enough... "time" / "space" for the last line. And if there is time, if there is music left, you still cannot sing the last line because the music does not fit. And in some Versions the Music already begins to fade after the last tine ended. So you try to sing this Version, this last tine, but the Music is already fading away... if there is Music at all. This cover version is good. But the most common versions seems to be the Paula Tsui versions, and all the others, Tong Li, Chen Ru Jia, Roman Tam and Co. always seems to cover the most common version. But I have also read somewhere the Terence Choi was actually the Songwriter, wirting the Lyrics and even composing this Song for Paula Tsui. I wonder thou if he has written the Line and Paula just did not sing it or if he later invented the Line. And added it later. Because as I understand, Terence Choi aka. Cai Guo Quan, was responsible for writing and composing the Song, but as I understand he would sing his own written song later and Paula Tsui was the first, if I am not mistaken. So he writes and compose a Song for Paula Tusi,, and she sings it, but he would later cover his own wirtten and composed song. Oh okay. But anyway I love this song, "Tme and Tide" aka "Downstream and Upstream" aka "Along Stream, Against Stream" aka. Seun lau yik lau. Another great song. Another reason I love this channel. You might be thinking, "Ohh, I already know the Song", but it turns out, you do not know the Song. Or better, you do not know this Version of the Song, because this Cover Version is sligtly differnt. Even it it's only one simple line at the end, added to it. And I knew this Song and also this Version beforhand. But this channel... (kinda, sorta, voluntarily) "forces" me / "foces" one, to really read the Lyrics and Translations. You want to read the Lyrics and translations, and therefore you notice the difference. Without reading it I guess, I would have never noticed the difference. Another, bonus, another advantage, another asset to subscribe to the channel. You never kow what you get, and you also learn a lot, and rediscover songs, you thought you already know everything about it. THANKS for another good lesson. Really. (Honestly, I never noticed the last tine before.) Oh and thanks again for translating my favorite song some days ago. That was helpfull and gratefull of you. Bye. Live long and prosper. And I am still a subscriber. Again: Bye.

I absolutely agree with your assessment. You obvious know the songs well and are passionate about Cantonese songs. Though my reply is brief, I enjoyed reading your comment immensely. Thank you.

i'm so glad this channel exists, helps me a lot with learning cantonese, thank you so much for making these videos!🙏 i have one small suggestion, if possible, please put also the chinese name of the artist into the video title, it will help a lot in recognising the actual chinese name of the artists, right now i only know them by their english names which feels incomplete, especially because i want to immerse in hong kong culture

A very reasonable and logical request. I will start doing that.

Hi @lookatthrsigns I have a humble request for you. I recently came across a Chinese song from My Girlfriend Is An Alien (c drama) named *Destiny Lover* by Thassapak Hsu and I humbly request you to provide that song in English (not with English suitable but the song itself in English)🙏🏻🙏🏻 Plsss.

I'm not familiar with the drama or that song at all. Sounds like you're looking for the English version with English lyrics. If I find it it I'll upload it somewhere for you to download.
