Glad You enjoyed Part 2! Definitely don’t see this Everyday! The Semi Wreckers are pretty impressive!!!!

Pretty common occurrence, they make plastic mats that can be driven on to displace the weight just enough for soft material like that. Just too much silt so no traction and once you break through the top it just sinks deeper and deeper as you try to get out. The biggest Problem is when to make the call to get help without looking to the customer like you haven’t made sufficient effort under your own power. Looks like there was a hole in the ground on the drivers rear side rear where he tried to jack it but the front was too low to get the beams out to jack the front.

Must not have walked it before.lol. I 😂😂 whenever a big concrete pump would come to a job we had huge mats made of railroad ties bound together. Our mixers and pump drove up on the mats and poured.

Customer and operator both knew they couldn't drive through there. What are they thinking?

It probably went something like "My Kubota goes in there fine, it'll be ok", Crane operator called dispatch and got bitched out because he can't figure out what to do on his own so he got the paper signed that makes the customer liable and just sent it. There is no way it was unintentional to go in that far.

There’s a 19 yo kid on that job somewhere that probably said “you know you should probably get some wood or something” not knowing yet, but smart enough. Smarter than that guy anyway.

I know crane mats are expensive and a pain in the ass. But after this bill, they would have been worth it. Operator error for sure.

the crane operator must have told dispatch it was a no go ..... but you know , they told him to go there anyway , and in 11:20 you can see he even broke the steering to prove it was a no go

Big crane !
@marvinjgerald60073 ай бұрын
First off that is essentially grassed over field tilled soil that’ll sink most pickup trucks even. Then secondly to top it all off it’s obviously saturated from a nearby water table and or retention pond of some sort.

They obviously knew they couldn't drive on soft FARMED land and expect it to hold up a DEMAG Terex 140 Ton crane . . why didn't they use heavy beams and steel plates or even have a temporary road built in to support the weight. .Where were they going to put their out-riggers? Many cranes have fallen over because the out-riggers were unsupported/failed and the crane topples. . BAD IDEA's going here. . Not thinking ahead.

I have been a heavy equipment operator 30+ years , this mess , is one of the worst decision ,s of a fellow operator I have seen , bar none You were so close to that crane sinking to the frame .

what the hell is the crane doing on the grass? ever heard that there are large metal-plates to do such a job?
@billneese51662 ай бұрын
I would say the crane drove in place, unstacked the tower and a big rain event trapped it in situ. Hopefully that's the way it happened.

@jaygreentree43945 ай бұрын
plywood would on the ground would have been smart for the crane to drive over. Just my .02
@paulthompson38774 ай бұрын
plywood no good , 80 tons all terrane , road base compacted , and gravel on top any good crane operator should have known that .
