tech and krizz killed it, hook was good, but the second verse just literally caused me physical pain
@TheBoltokPriest7 жыл бұрын
Elijah Jenkins It's the voice. The verse itself wasn't bad, but it doesn't mesh too well with the song. Makes me think of Sundae, she's been on a few Tech Features over the years and her inclusion is really hit or miss for me. It's just the way she raps. Like I can't imagine that's her normal speaking voice. It just reeks of trying way too hard. Which isn't her or anyone else's fault. It is a male dominated industry and female rappers have to fight twice as hard and mold themself to be palatable to rap fans, and they still might end up getting marketed as a "Female Rapper", instead of someone who can stand on their own creativity. That's not their fault and it sure as hell isn't fair. I just think she could benefit from a bit more experimentation. I think I saw she was a junior artist somewhere in the comments. If that's the case, this was a big feature for her and that's great. But unfortunately, it really hurt the song for me. Which is a shame because Tech and Krizz fucking killed it. This isn't necessarily a stylistic difference, because like I said, the verse wasn't too bad. It caught a few sharp lines, but I just couldn't understand half of it because of the voice she was putting on. She sounded like a 2 packs a day trucker trying to chop. Maybe some people like that, but that's just not for me and unfortunately, this won't be a song I'll be buying and putting on repeat.

Listen to Rittz song. Then listen to RIttz not singing. It seems to me your argument is such, "OMG NEW SOUND EWWW NEED SOMETHING REASSURING NOT DIFFERENT!" that's what it seems to me. I didn't have a single problem understanding Teri Legato's vocals. Then again music is my fucking soul, as far as her being a junior rapper see my above post towards pineapples. I despise when fools try to spread bronchitis towards a new artist.
@TheBoltokPriest7 жыл бұрын
josh lithuania Your reply didn't tag someone and since I'm the only other post, I'll assume you meant me. I think you've got me fucked up if you think I dislike new sounds. I really enjoy Rittz, but I don't love everything he makes. He has a good voice for singing hooks and his natural tone lends well to smooth, yet blistering lines. His speed always surprises me when I hear it because my favorite songs of his tend to be more slow paced and thoughtful. His enunciation is especially strong because it prevents him from mumbling and losing his lines at such a breakneck pace. I'm not sure what comparison you were trying to make with him, but I don't see how that relates. There's nothing wrong with experimenting with new sounds. But as a consumer of music, I need to be able to enjoy it in order to support it. That's basic consumer economy. If an artist's sound goes in a direction I like, I will support it. If it doesn't, I'll support the music they've made that I do like and keep an eye on new content to see if they come out with something I really like. There's nothing more with wanting more of what you enjoy. That doesn't make me disloyal or a "fair-weather fan" nor does buying every album and liking every track make someone a "true" fan. I'm willing to give every song/album a fair listen. Approaching something with an open mind makes you a good fan or atleast an openmind consumer. I'm not made of money, so I have to be choosey with what I buy and sometimes I've gotta cut corners. Music is unfortunately not a financial priority, despite it being just as important as food and water for me. Some people are very wealthy and can afford to contribute larger sums of money to support an artist but those tend to be a small fraction of any fanbase. They're more donors than consumers really. Most of us have to think long and hard about where their money goes when it comes to spending it on music, especially given the state of the industry and the many less savory ways of aquiring tracks. It's too easy to pirate shit. A lot of artists have mixed feelings on it. On one hand, more people hear and enjoy your music, but it really undercuts your bottom line. Most artists rely on brand loyalty among fans who want to support them and will pay for their music despite it being easy to download for "free". That's why I think long and hard about who I support financially. Some artists I just can't afford to shell out for at release. But I always make sure I buy my Strange Music. I can't always afford to buy my preorders, sometimes I'm a little antsy about whether or not it'll be worth buying a preorders, but if I do like, I always make sure I pay off my backlog. That's just part of being financially limited. But supporting Tech and Krizz and Rittz and ¡MAYDAY! is important to me as a fan and as a consumer because I am invested in their music and their ability to continue making it. At the bottom line, Artists and Consumers owe eachother nothing. It's a simple business transaction. Fans who are not consumers won't increase an artist's capital and are generally not catered to. Loyal Listeners are great and all, but money speaks and artists listen. It's not a very romantic thing, I know. But unless an artist is able to achieve financial success, they won't be able to take chances and experiment more. Which is why a lot of new artists, especially female rappers tend to appeal to known trends to get a foothhold in the industry fanbase so they can make enough money to start experimenting more. Strange Music has that kind of success and prides itself on making the music they enjoy and being confident enough that the music they make will draw in new fans and sustain old ones. It's a brilliant business model that's worked wonders for them, but only because they have talented artists. They use their considerable clout in the industry and with their consumers and fans to invest in talented upcoming artists to give them an environment to work in and an audience to stand in front of. As magnanimous as that is, it's still an investment, which is why they choose people they believe are talented enough and a good fit for their audiences. Innovation is a wonderful thing and if an artist is happy making music that I don't care for, as long as someone does enjoy it and is willing to pay money for it, I'm not a big loss. If an audience is big enough, they don't need to cater to everyone and if their catalogue is varied enough, they can satisfy different musical tastes. In my opinion, the Collabos albums are perfect for that because they use a lot of different out of studio beatmakers and invite different artists in for features. That's where the innovation happens imo. Another good thing about Strange is their rosters hold a lot of different artists of different styles. Not all Strange fans have the same musical taste, but in Tech and his label, they have all found something worth sticking around for. Now, I'm not sure what you mean by pineapples or bronchitis. If you're talking about my opinion on the fledgling feature, I stand by what I said. That vocal style is not pleasant on the ears. I sincerely doubt that's her normal speaking voice. She's definitely trying too hard. And on the off chance that I'm wrong, it's not a crime to dislike someone's voice. Plenty of artists have poor singing voices or voices that are unique and have very uncommon tones. Plenty of rappers have unappealing voices that affect the way their rhymes are perceived. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how smart their rhymes are or clever their writing is, if their delivery sucks and their voices sounds like a 2 pack a day smoker, nobody will take them seriously. Which is a shame because I heard a few clever metaphors in there somewhere...

It's like any advertisement or commercial you'd see on TV... Someone famous with a better rep than the company that's selling said item goes to represent them giving them more credibility and awareness on the scene. I sincerely doubt that there would be any resentment from her. In face that's the whole point. It's getting her more exposure to a larger crowd that was deaf. As well any fans that followed her a chance to groove N9ne/Krizz.

LYRICS (ad-libbed) You can't pretend, you already caved in... to The Other Side. Arms stretched out wide; you can't run, you can't hide... From The Other Side. You can't return. Your soul already burns... on The Other Side. You can't resist. You don't even exist... on The Other Side. Tech: I'mma be never ready to die cuz I'm gonna live forever but haters steady deny when I say that I'm the greatest I get a petty reply when they should be in agreeance with the killer deadly as I, Tecca Nina. Checkin' em so fast they watching me blow past The competition I'm ripping them up and they told Tech The opposition they wishing I get a flow flack, for popping this when I'm kicking, they walk up with no class. So another died, stupidly trying to go with the Nina I kill em and their mother cried Michael Myers making her cut her ties Gutter guys, eat your food up and giggle if he suckerfied. Everything I do it, thugger-wide Super audible making it so impossible to shut her thighs Look at me with lover eyes When I spit it she with it she wanna get into the choppa sides I am what butter buys Sensational scripted seeking Satan's suffers high So many come gunning for the soldier but death is what I showed ya Man even the tougher tried I am a Mel Gibson and Denny Glover Ride Lethal weapon like an evil reverend you can keep your jeffin' on The Other Side. CHORUS: You can't pretend, you already caved in... to The Other Side. Arms stretched out wide; you can't run, you can't hide... From The Other Side. You can't return. Your soul already burns... on The Other Side. You can't resist. You don't even exist... on The Other Side. Teri Legato: Got a lot to do, guess I'm feeling pretty anxious Paid a lot of dues to be laying up on fake shit Just a bad bitch running game to this anglage New to this game I found my way and so I feed this Found peace in my soul when I turned strange Since ten my apen don't kill pain Dark vibes telling me avoid flames While the paper boy's feeling to escape Evil seas Dark sides stepped in couldn't feel hot Kiss my soul goodbye And hearing angels cry Open up the sky, dark Grim tried. Heartbeat raised high but my veins bleed Falling flat on my face on the concrete Other side of my door keeps knocking Looking for the light in the dark, please stop me. Picture dark nights with the angels lying Feel my black wings, I'm a soul be flying Running from the truth, fallacy be hiding. Loving all the used prophecies subsiding Daughter from a pastor's son of a bastard, burning all the souls hearing purgatory's laughter .....you screaming while You don't exist on The Other Side (Just picture dark nights when the angels cry, cry, cry, cry, cry) (Just picture dark nights when the angels cry) You can't pretend, you already caved in... to The Other Side. Arms stretched out wide; you can't run, you can't hide... From The Other Side. You can't return. Your soul already burns... on The Other Side. You can't resist. You don't even exist... on The Other Side. Krizz Kaliko: There's a lot of beauty journey into my beautiful darkness I let....what they did to me off of my beautiful darkness Its kinda vicious, malicious, a shame what they did to that boy. And now they visit the venues, and digits they give you, will buy you your toys. And all the...... Beauty gets nude to me only if you will get new with me But ya refuting me and Strange Music rebooting me has taken like glue to me And putting me where the Buddha be. The opportunity knocks I know they hear me busta fluently, or soon to be pop I get diplomatic immunity as soon as he drop And everybody in the room that make a fool of me stop Rock it, not get tipsy off this flocket. Tryna' get lifted, check my pocket Got that Nino watch make profit Let it go! See there's levels to this .....and the side that I'm on, ain't no devils in this Even sayin' that Tech take no medals in this On the Other Side I guess I'll settle for this You can't pretend, you already caved in... to The Other Side. Arms stretched out wide; you can't run, you can't hide... From The Other Side. You can't return. Your soul already burns... on The Other Side. You can't resist. You don't even exist... on The Other Side. Krizz Kaliko: See it's that other side, no war can take it there. Nowhere to run and hide, people don't even dare. Me and you, you are nothing the same. I live on the other side and that's where I'm gonna stay. You can't pretend, you already caved in... to The Other Side. Arms stretched out wide; you can't run, you can't hide... From The Other Side. You can't return. Your soul already burns... on The Other Side. You can't resist. You don't even exist... on The Other Side. (A for effort?)
