The eye entity is actually what becomes of the viewers when they are sucked into their TV wich in turn is the signal tower.
@whimsyoni3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that, or that the eye could be the fear of feeling like everyone's watching you, that you constantly have to do your best because you don't wanna let down the expectations of how others see you. Japanese culture is very big on respect and social acceptance, for example in schools most kids are expected to look the same (dress code and hairstyles have to be a certain way) and that goes all the way up to job hunting. Growing up in japan, kids are constantly expected to be good kids and not let anyone down. Which is why i think the eye represents the eyes of society. Imo its also another reason why people are afraid of loneliness, they think that if people leave and if they're alone, that it means they're just not good enough.

Some little facts about the world of Little Nightmares 2: *There are 249 patients within the Pale City hospital. *There is a metal band titled “Death Burger” *There are two male bullies named Truls and Benny, and then there is a female bully name Jennifor. *The children featured in the Little Nightmares 2 comics have in-game models and animations that were intended to make an appearance within the campaign. They can bee seen through the game files. *The taxidermy dad seen within the Hunter’s cabin was intended to fall out of his seat and onto the floor to startle the player while in the dinning room. *The ending sequence with Mono’s transformation was originally going to be much longer. I believe it was showing that Mono was physically tied to his chair and is struggling to break free. As he ages, the struggling is less frequent, and then he stops. *We were originally going to see a teenage Mono. *There is a child with a ghost sheet whose nicknamed “Spirit.” He is not the same child featured in the Little Nightmares 2 comics. *The eye entity seen chasing Mono and Six through the crumbling Black Tower is called “Flesh Walls.” *We were originally going to have an enemy that essentially acted the same way the stone-turning eyes did in the Maw, though this time it is an actual eye looking through a television.

This also explains your motive behind destroying Six's music box. When Mono arrives to 'rescue' Six, he finds that she's playing with her music box -unwilling to leave. Unlike the other sentient monsters in the game Six isn't initially hostile towards you, even presenting the music box to you to play with. It's not until you start destroying her toy that she becomes aggressive. When Six was taken away, Mono immediately goes to get her back. However, once he finds her he sees she's happily sitting alone playing with her precious toy like she did at the start of the game. This shocks Mono, who's been alone for most of his life and thought Six would be as anxious to get back to him as he was to get back to her -seeing her as a nightmare for the very first time. Jealous and afraid to be alone, he blames the music box for Six's change and throws a tantrum to destroy the music box. He shouts and taunts her and eventually smashes her music box to pieces. Expecting Six to change back to who she used to be, there's an eerie change to her demeanor when she returns to her childlike form when she stands up to look at you. You're no longer friends. And so, at the end of the game, Six abandons Mono who falls into despair. *Bonus thought: The eyes surrounding you at the end of the game could be a metaphor for how Mono feels alone and judged or watched by people around him without a friend to be around him. The sudden disappearance of the eyes resembles Mono's detachment from society completely.

The ending when six betrays mono could be a metaphor for six almost leaving mono. He met her at first around the cabin and then they went to school together. Six gets taken away at the school by the kids which could resemble her making new friends and ditching mono. In the hospital, mono also does a lot of the tasks on his own, this could suggest that six was rarely there for mono when he was in hospital with his parent. At the end six lets mono fall and this could be her moving on (to the maw) and leaving mono behind, constantly remembering his life events like a nightmare

I have something that fits into the theory. We know that Mono is a commentary on loneliness, and you mentioned modern-day Japanese males, The Thin Man being a representation of that. What if Yhe Lady is a commentary on a different side of the coin. We can tell that The Lady hides behind a mask, trying to look beautiful. You can see this is modern-day females, and a lot specifically in Aisa. I think The Lady represents the beauty standard/some kind of idol or celebrity. She is the perfect standard, thin and beautiful, but behind that mask, she can't even keep up with the trends she sets herself.
@sundalosketch47693 жыл бұрын
That also plays into the whole food theme Little Nightmares had, all the massive enemies in the game just gorging down food while the Lady is the only one slim. It could be a warning for women to watch their weight, to not get tempted by gluttony in order to achieve one's perfect self. I'm not sure what her being able turn children into nomes have to do with it but i'm sure someone could pitch in with an idea that still fits into Japanese culture and lore.

Hello?! This theory actually made way more sense! That explains why Six letting go of Mono is perceived by him as a betrayal. Despite the growth of their friendship, they'll part some time in their lives. Six had to go onto her own path, and because of the separation, Mono is shrouded in loneliness. The chronic hunger she later encounters could be her need to search for something that would fulfill her. It's awesome to see the franchise tying to real life events! Everything in the game could be metaphors or exaggeration of what and how a child sees the world and the people!

Theory for the ending: Six never sees mono without his mask canonically before she is kidnapped, yes? If Mono and thin man are the same, then they'd share the same face logically. Six probably got a good look at thin man's face. Mono takes his mask off to fight thin man. Then between being a monster and racing to the exit, the first sight Six gets of Mono's face is when she's holding him from falling. I'd imagine she'd be looking at her kidnappers face again, thus trying to escape she lets go. Thoughts?

⚠️SPOILERS: My theory below. Very Long⚠️ As Six Wiki states: "In the secret post credits scene, Six arrives back in an room through a TV, seemingly horrified by what she just did to Mono as she looks around and slowly stands before being approached by a distorted and dark shadow version of herself, a remnant of what she had just gone through after being taken by the Thin Man. The Shadow Six looks towards a poster of the Maw, before fizzling and fading away into the wind, then Six's stomach begins to rumble with a loud, deep hunger as she stares off into the camera, obscured by shadow." Her Description: Awakening in a world she cannot recognise, Six must learn to trust someone else if she is to stand a chance of survival. She has already seen more than any normal child ever should, but then... Six is not a normal child. My Theory; Six was hungry. Who knows how long she went without eating while in the Hunter's Home. We know she gets hungry fast, and when hungry she gets aggressive. Aggressive survival instincts kicks in, example her eating a gnome in Little Nightmares I despite it offering her a sausage. I think we can see proof of this as in LN1, the lights slowly get darker as she gets hungrier. In LN2, during certain cutscene later on in the game (the one that come to mind is her picking up her raincoat), the same light effect happens. . . As if she's starting to get hungry. During the end, towards the "betrayal" i believe that Six wasn't in her right mind. As the wiki states, she felt horrified. Six trusted Mono, she had to for survival and eventually saw a friendship. She was the one constantly pulling him away from the TV's when he would go to them when she could have just left. I believe that it started to change as the Thin Man took her, since then she wasn't the same Six. Combined with her hunger, kidnapping by the Thin Man, and splitting into two before rejoining. I believe that the distorted version of her took over while in the tower.

I love this theory. It also helps explain the end: the whole time, he thinks he's Six's savior. Six sees this as a "misery loves company" type of situation. Also, she's always the one having to encourage Mono to jump the gaps, rather than being the other way around. If you think about Six's hunger appearing after she 'dumps him,' that's her ambition kicking in. She's off to the Maw, to take on the 'fat cats,' and dethrone the Lady of the establishment.

i LOVE how both games work on both a meta, metaphorical level, AND on an in-game, rich story level. like obviously, in the world of the game, there are all these timelines and story and mystery. but i love how even if we step back outside of the game world, there is still analysis to be had. some people think that both games being nightmares would ruin it, but i love it, i think it makes it deep on not only an in-universe level, but also on a level of looking at it from outside.

I've been saying this since the first day the game came out. It's the only thing that makes sense to me with the plot of the story and the title. I feel like each setting we see is a different child's nightmare in some type of shared nightmare reality. The Pale City is Mono's. The MAW is Six's. I say that because each setting has a theme it follows. The Pale City is built around television consumption. The MAW is built on hunger and overconsumption, but ultimately hunger. Six is hungry. The guests cant fill their hunger. The Lady runs an eating establishment. What i think is interesting and it's a stretch for sure but hear me out... Everyone has said they think Mono is predestined to turn into the Thin Man in some form or fashion in most theories. BUT, i think in this nightmare realm, the thin man is the ultimate manifestation of Mono's fears and demons. Just like the Lady is Six's. That begs the question as to WHY mono turns into a darkened, thin man. This part helps connect the mysterious tall man from LN 1 into this and explain his presence in the story. I think that tall man that hung himself is Mono's father. I think mono saw his father hanging and that trauma from that image created the Thin Man (a hanging body with broken neck and dangling limbs gives the appearance of a stretched, thin body). This explains why the hallway leads to the room and the chair and thin man that looks so much like the room, chair and man hanging in LN 1.

I have a similar theory. I also think it’s Mono’s nightmare and I think the first game is Six’s nightmare and here is their story Mono and Six are siblings. Their parent/parents got sick and died. The social services placed them with their abusive uncle (the hunter) they escape from him. The social services find out about this and try to get to them placing them somewhere else. The thin man is a social worker and Six and Mono run from him because they know they will be separated. The thin gets Six and takes her to his office, Mono attempts to break Six out but they get caught and placed in different homes. Mono felt that Six didn’t try hard enough when it can to sticking together and that she let him down. Six might have caused someone to get really badly hurt and now she fears that she will turn into a monster.

My analysis on the Barber, who is definitely an interesting character. We have seen his portrait within one of the corridors of the Pale City school and within the residential quarters of the Governess, meaning the Barber has some sort of relationship with the Governess. This may indicate that he is a rather influential figure within the Pale City. Similar to how both the Teacher and Doctor have their portraits featured in the residential quarters of the Maw and are incredibly impactful within the Pale City. The Barber owns his own barber shop which is located somewhere within Pale City. The inside is quite well-kept, which is in complete contrast with the many dilapidated apartment complexes that surround him. The Barber seems incredibly sadistic towards children, as he attempts to kill any within sight with his hair-cutting scissors. Though this is common among most adults.

Theory: when Mono goes into the TV, this is him trying to accessing his memories where he’ll see the tall man. Six pulls his out to stop him finding his memories and realising that he was betrayed and became the tall man. As then he wouldn’t help six escape the nightmare. Might be a stretch but hey ho 😂

This is my theory✨ I think that mono remembers all the bad things that happened in his past and has nightmares about it, and every time he tries to wake up when he is about to get to that door on the tv six gets him because she is trying to use mono to save herself, so if she lets him go then she won’t be able to save herself, but then when mono was able to reach the door to scape the nightmare, he noticed it was not a dream anymore, and that he had to turn into what used to scare him, the tall man who I think COULD be his dad, which basically means that he did not wanted to be that way but everyone expected him to be like his father.

Really like this theory! What if the locations in little nightmares 2 are a reverse order of mono’s life before the nightmare? His parent worked for the broadcast tower, so went all over the city installing and fixing TV sets. This could also explain his powers as he would have a much deeper understanding of how they work than a normal person. His parent falls ill and the trauma of the hospital attacks mono until the parent dies and is sent of to an orphanage. The school. Orphans often grew up separated from other children and with many psychological issues. Mono meets the teacher who seems kind, plays piano and welcomes him. He is quickly set upon by bullies and sees that if one bully is fought back against, a group will gang up on the victim. On top of this the teacher is actually hawk eyed and abusive. Mono then runs away and manages to cross the water and comes across a lone family in the cabin. The hunter is clearly the head of the house and the rest are all hollow and scared of doing anything against the word of the hunter. Mono sees the basement and the taxidermy and runs further into the woods. The freshest memories are the clearest and most grounded, growing more distorted and abstract the further back they go.

One of the things I really like about this series is that it has both a straight forward plot, and really interesting themes. Like, yeah. Little Nightmares 2 is about 2 children traveling through a dilapidated city to stop a “monster,” but it’s also about the existential horror of being a child with little to no autonomy (especially in a horrible situation such as abuse), and how the cycle of abuse perpetuates itself unless we are helped out of it. It’s honestly brilliant, and I love how deeply the themes are baked into every aspect of the storytelling.

I mean, Six and The Lady seem to have hunger. Six eats, Lady absorbs power, it's basically the same. I just wanted to drop this theory because I think somehow makes sense.

When I was a child, I had a reoccurring nightmare in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, and there was always a snowstorm outside. Every time, my mother would leave me alone at home to go to the store, and while she was gone, a creature would come try to catch me. Every time I was caught, the dream ended. The idea of Little Nightmares being a nightmare is the way I initially interpreted it because repeating the same scenario in an alternate world and trying to get a different outcome was the reality of my sleeping life. If LN is a nightmare, it would explain why there is a time paradox, why it appears that Mono knows where he is going, and why it appears that elements in this world can be remembered. Additionally, some of my nightmares involved switching perspectives. I may have spent part of the story in my body, but I would also spend some parts in the body of another significant character, a friend, or in another life within the same world. This would explain why we play as different characters throughout the series. I don't know that everyone has similar childhood experiences, but if so, Little Nightmares being a nightmare is the most believable explanation.
