Terje Pedersen's 91.72m javelin throw world record set in Oslo in 1964

In a competition between Norway and Czechoslovakia, Terje Pedersen broke the javelin world record for the second time in two months. Very few present actually saw the record, as they were watching an exciting final to the 800m. When the result went up on the board, the first figure was a 9, which resulted in a deafening wave of cheering. He had broken the 90-meter barrier (and the 300' mark) with 91.72 meters (300' 11").

Nice video. I do not wonder why he was the first man to get over 90 meters. His technic seems to be similar to what we have nowadays (Pitkämäki, Ruuskanen...) Totally different that the others at those days in 60's.
