This song has a sort of lazily content, relaxed feel to it. Like someone telling you about the crazy shit they did to overcome their trials and land in the wonderful place they are now. Then at 2:00, they tell the part where they almost failed... smirking at their audience's bated breath.

I'm a bit late to the party but imagine if Sonic Mania got DLC stages for remixed stages from other sonic games like colors. Egg man uses the phantom ruby to make a space elevator, then we destroy it and we get a Terminal Velocity stage in a classic style. I could imagine this music being used for it!
