I remember a radio interview with McG where he stated that, following Halcyon purchasing the rights to the franchise, they planned three Terminator movies. Salvation. Extinction and Redemption which told the story of the future war. They understood what the fans wanted and we were finally going to get it, but what happened? It grossed $371million worldwide. Well below expectations and the final two films were never made. People never gave Salvation a chance. They didn't understand what McG was trying to do. Skynet was limited straight after the war. It's technological ability refined with the creation of more sophisticated Terminators and mankind was on the brink. But no. We never got that which is a real shame and that spelled the beginning of the end for this franchise because everything else after has been 100 times worse.

We actually did get a sequel in the form of a comic book called **Terminator Salvation The Final Battle** Also Fall of The Machines is a WAY better name for the third movie than redemption

Terminator Salvation is a decent Terminator film. It was the last time we had a good Terminator film. It was the first time we saw a movie taking place DURING the war. People should have understood that this film took place in 2018, during the earlier years of the war, so of course there will be stuff different than the war the first three films showed. Sure the film had its issues, but honestly, it's still better than whatever Genisys & Dark Fate were. At least Genisys was a reboot that didn't try to ruin the actual timeline & had interesting ideas. Because of that I had fun watching it & I was actually interested in what would happen later, but Dark Fate, I'm fine with not seeing more of it. But Salvation was going in the right direction. I would really like to see Terminator Extinction & Redemption.

Not only does it wrap up the storyline of the first 4 films in a great way, but is worthy to be called the TRUE Terminator 5 and 6. It is available in 2 volumes Btw fall of the machines is a better name for Mcg’s terminator 6 than redemption

@@clonetrooper2003 Sorry for replying 1 month later but I read that comic series & I liked it quite a bit. I prefer seeing the T2 alternate ending as a true ending but for the original timeline (T1, T2, T3 & TS), I like to see this series as the ending to the original timeline. Also I like both Redemption & Fall Of The Machines equally. Also you think plot points from this comic were supposed to be used in Extinction & Redemption? It's because certain plot points of the comic seem to fit with the titles of the sequels.

Esta película como dice su título hubiera salvado a la franquicia. Esta es la Única secuela que es diferente y por eso yo le tengo un gran aprecio y respeto al director. Estoy muy deacuero contigo, para mi esta es la tercer mejor pelicula de la franquicia y una buena pelicula por si sola, con todo y sus fallos. Diria que esta es la mejor encuanto al uso del sonido y la banda sonora. Desde que era niño la veia siempre y siempre quise ver una continuación, aunque bueno, luego de esta salieron la de Dark fate y Genesis, que si bien no me parecen tan malas como muchos dicen, no le llegan a Salvacion ni mucho menos a las primeras 2. #RealiseTheMcgCut

That movie had so many great moments, like this into (and it's a reference to T1 opening), T-800 scene, nice story and new character Marcus, nice terminators designs. But on the other hand it has so many issues :( Story has plot holes, Skynet is an idiot and believes that Marcus will join machines (why?), terminators don't kill people just throwing them, there was only one battle scene but the whole idea for a movie is showing a war between humans and machines and more... Movie fails, but still it has one of the best moments in Terminator series.

@mexicanguy43 Yeah, it really reminds me of that too! The thing about T4 is that it is like 80% good, the action is good, effects, actors and everything. But the story isn't completly true to what Cameron said things like 'the camps' etc. are cool and everything but I would have liked the movie more if it was more like T1 and T2, but still I didn't think it was a waste of money. And the soundtrack... it's awesome, it is a more 'apocalyptic' version of the Terminator Theme... that's awesome :)
