@Toybountyhunter19749 ай бұрын
The Terminators that John was fighting at the beginning of this film as well as the one on the street that was shooting at Marcus were T-600 series Terminators. Reese talked about them in the first film when he said, "The 600 series had rubber skin. We spotted them easy." Such a shame. Salvation was suppose to be the beginning of a new trilogy that tells the story of the rise of the resistance and the ultimate defeat of Skynet, but it just didn't make the money and they abandoned the trilogy in favor of what I consider to be an ultimately terrible path. Since John realized in this film that the T-800s are being created much earlier than his mother told him about it means the time line had been altered. I always thought it would've been cool if this future trilogy ended up being the ultimate way to make judgement day and the rise of the machines never happen. I imagined during the trilogy someone in the resistance like a scientific expert discovers that Skynets plan to send the Terminators back in time to end Connors existence had a secondary purpose. Upon the success of their primary mission, ending Connor, they would then proceed to their secondary mission, Ensure the creation of Skynet. It is then discovered that if they actually prevent Skynet from sending ANY of the Terminators through time it will prevent Skynet from every existing. However John and the Resistance are left with a sort of dilemma. If they stop Skynet from sending any of the Terminators back, thus ending it's creation they also end everything as it is including John himself. At the end of the trilogy, John makes the decision to literally sacrifice his existence to prevent it all from ever happening. No one will ever know because no one will ever know he existed.

Despite not being as good as its predecessors, Salvation was a decent sequel. The film moved forward with the story and has good action scenes. I just thought they gave too much importance to Marcus, instead of focusing more on John Connor. And I also thought there was a lack of further development regarding Resistance. Furthermore, I liked the references, especially when Connor says "I'll be back" and then we have the scene where "You Could Be Mine" plays, which is the main soundtrack for Terminator 2. And of course, the scene where "Schwarzenegger" appears is the icing on the cake. Very nostalgic. Between mistakes and successes, Salvation showed potential for more films set in the future. So, in the Terminator Lore (from co-ordinating the average data from comics, books. movies, and tv) the models of evolution are; T-1 basic human-sized tank-tread drones. T-100 basic human shape infantry unit. T-300, T-400, T-500 are various forms of Heavy Chassis Unit, T-600 First of the Endo Skeletons, but they are built as massive guard with Gatling gun. They were easy to spot as infiltrators, as they wore rubber skin and were obvious, due to their size. T-700 Were tall human sized, had a darker metal due to their cobalt-titanium crossed chassis. The first true infiltrator. Good at short term mission, but the red glare of their eyes, and lack of fully realised flesh, led to rotting of the skin after barely-a-month. T-800 The Governor we know and love. Is a Triple-Armoured Hyper-Alloy Combat Chassis. (hence the size) Has full HUD Analytical Display, a fully functioning Flesh which stays can, apart from heavy lacerations/deep massive wounds, can stay fresh for decades, sweats and bad-breath. Arnie label as an T-101 is both erroneous and true. The 101 is in reference to the appearance of the skin it wears: T-800 Make of Endo-Skeleton - Series Model of skin [1-(first) - 01] (Arnold Schwarzenegger) All other Makes of T-888s, T-8xxs, T-900s were all slightly slimmer in design, but also retains their Heavy Chassis. Obvious to Terminator Units being reprogramed, Skynet creates more advanced models who are able to terminate other machines. The various models of larger Tanks, Mechs, and Aircraft are know collectively as HKs - Hunter Killers. Due to Alternative Universes created by the Time Travel nature of the franchises plot, there are always mods or conflicting intel.

If I remember correctly, the original ending was supposed to have Marcus's character get a facial transplant to be John Connor since Bale's character was supposed to die, but this allowed John to 'live' on and continue the fight against the machines, with only the close circle of people knowing the truth. I do personally think that the real skynet is in fact that bald "cold dead" cancer female, already hiding as a man/woman machine, while the AI/"program" and so-called "skynet" of cyberdyne, is just that, an AI/program, as a diversion, to get humans to focus on it, while skynet is actually merged with a human body, walking around, just like Marcus would be so), using him (as a death row convict) to "donate" his "organs"/body for "science"... for cyberdyne, which was just a private company at the time/originally, as after dead Marcus is made into a terminator, the movie tells us that the US military than buys cyberdyne for its "advanced AI", for skynet and the lab where dead Marcus was turned into a terminator, would get "abandoned and lost" with time, only to be "rediscovered" (intentionally by skynet) by the resistance and john conner, years after judgement day, as seen in this movie whether skynet deems humans as "expendable" or not, is not so clear, skynet/machines may actually require humans, with man-machine being superior to mere machines, but regardless of this... it still had the effect, of uniting humans (john conner and kyle reese) and machines, through marcus, that humans and machines can work together, against machines... marcus is the reason arnold in T2 and T3, and john conner (and his wife ), are "buddies", sending arnold back in time, to protect john conner in T2 and T3, despite that arnold (supposedly) kills young adult john conner (T3) in T3's "original" timeline (as arnold got "killed" by the terminatrix and reprogrammed to kill john conner, with him attempting to do so near the end of T3 with them trying to start and then fly away with the helicopter-plane off to the bunker, with arnold slamming john conner onto the car, "supposedly" killing john conner, or did he actually self-terminate himself in the original timeline as well, as seen he did in the T3 movie's current timeline, the messy-ness of trying to use time travel in stories, lol), with john's wife, (re)-reprogramming arnold, sending him back in time to the beginning of T3, to protect john conner, and maybe also sending arnold back in time to T2 to also protect kid john conner, as well after T4, we then get T5, with the time travel machine, which then enables the all of the time traveling that occurs within the terminator franchise (T 1-6)... possibly "starting" with kyle reese as the first (human-side) volunteer going back in time (to T1) to protect sarah conner, and knock her up with his future-to-be-son, john conner, and then kyle reese dies (if I remember T1's ending, lol), but Sarah Conner is knocked up with john conner, so kyle reese's death in T1 (again, if it does happen), doesn't matter, as resistance john conner in T4, will meet his future-to-be-father, a young adult/old-teen kyle reese, whom will grow into a soldier, through him meeting marcus and their trials, and then shortly with him meeting john conner and all of their trials, all in T4, with this young-adult/old-teen kyle reese of T4, having no idea that john conner is his son, while john conner, a full adult, knows that this young-adult/old-teen kyle is his father... now, who is john conner's wife (in T4) pregnant with... is it baby kyle reese (lol)... or baby sarah conner (hmm)... or just someone else... I can't remember if the movie ever mentions who is john conner's son... argh... (taking a break, as this is really complicated, and again, I'm just doing this stuff on the fly, need to go back and really watch and analyze all of the movies)

Arnie wasn't in this one, cuz at that time he was governor and as a politician not allowed to be in movies. Nor would he have had the time, I assume. They cgi'd his face on to a bodybuilder's body, who stood in for Arnie's T-800.

Granted Ive not seen Sam Worthington in anything beside this and Avatar I dont get why he isnt a bigger star. I thought he was by far the best performance here in terms of nuance and believability.

We thought that was Arnie in his 1984 guise but clever CGI.

Just a minor request. I think you guys should turn the movie volume up a little during the dialogue. Sermed harder to hear than other vids, or it's an issue on my end. Glad you enjoyed the movie! It's not the best in the franchise but my personal fav after 1&2.

The idea of a neutron bomb is that it fries your brain. He'd be dead.

It’s not that they are weaker it’s that for one these are people who know how to fight them already and have better armor piercing rounds than they did in the 80s. These guys know exactly where to terminators are weakest armor wise and also actually have the rounds that can penetrate their armor as well.

they missed the "easy money" line when he hacked that bike-anator : P

And from T2, T3, Salvation & even Genesys...John always seem to be on a bike.

But that line wouldn't make sense here because John wouldn't get any money from here

Not gonna lie, I love Salvation. Came out around the time I was really into Fallout, so the aesthetic really worked for me.

Really like the analogy with Rogue One. I call it grittier SW and Salvation is the same for T series.
