Termite Sweeper will not crank, has no power

I had a wire turn green inside. The wire worked when it was cold, but after running for a while, it would dry out and stop working. 😊

oh Yes I have seen that before also, I have tried to cut out the green part before but it didn't last long, so i just replace them
