Damn... he fell for the “chromolly up charge”.... more people need to look into the science behind metal... unless you re-heat treat 4130 after welding, it will be brittle next to every weld, and will break when you crash , d.o.m is actually safer for chassis that won’t be heat treated after welding

Also with 4130 anything over an eighth of an inch should be preheated to 400f.

I don't know too much about how racing trucks are built ,as in the tubing and wall thickness just as a guestment what did it cost to buy the tubing to build the truck from fire wall back

Most Rangers are built with 1.75 mild steel DOM tubing and I'd guess a back half like his would be around $800-1000 just for the steel. However since his is chromoly tubing that adds a lot to the price, can't say exactly how much, I've never messed with it.

Darrenrace1447 I’m so glad now Ford builds the 7.3 Godzilla we can start having a lot more high performance Ford motors and Ford products for this type of application they say the 7.3 L is built with all forged internals and will hold over 2000 hp from the factory so that would be amazing

Patrick Reid race trucks are always getting maintenance, I’d rather have the tubes raw and be able to see any future issues ahead of time. Also I love in the desert, not much h2o..
