When im uranium hunting i use my PRIPYAT/Hupra geiger because it is more sensitive to low level radiation. However when I get back home I test what I found with terra always! The only thing I wish terra p had is to be able to show in CPM!

It has a gm tube. How can it detect sub-microCurie levels of material in food. I'm sure it can detect gross contamination in food but the video would likely appear otherwise to people uneducated in radiation detection. I feel that this commercial is a little exaggerated. I hope it will not lead to a false sense of security for people that do not have formal training. Great product for a small personal dosimeter but not so great for detecting minute amounts of contamination in food or water. I do know people who have your product and it is an exceptional personal dosimeter.

Ecotest refer to the domestic version of Terra P by the same name as the military version you mentioned (MKS-05). What I don't understand is their claim that 0.3 micro-sieverts as being safe, but the reading on their devices say "uSv/h" (units of sieverts per hour), not "uMS/h" for micro-sieverts per hour. Their manual literally says they measure in sieverts, not micro-sieverts or millisieverts. Could they have made a mistake in both their manual and the abbreviation on their devices? Surely not, but it does seem that way.

The u means micro. uMSv would mean micro mega sieverts. umSv means micro milli sieverts which would both be incorrect units of measurement

I need your help, when I switch on I could not get the usual background level of 7-11 sv after a while it keeps bleeping & displaying PO3P what are the default settings? Thanks Peter

@@Luke-wx5df Christ you timed that well my battery has started going flat today, I use energiser alkaline batteries(guaranteed not to leak) if you have the Panasonic batteries in it supplied, THROW THEM AWAY they will leak and damage the unit.

Peter Cousins Mine came with 2 Ukraine made batteries, 1 battery was flat, another one was full, it runs okay but keep popping out P03P when I try to change the settings, I took the batteries out, measured 1 battery and it was only 0.58V, so I change out the batteries, It no longer pops P03P, maybe thats the issue.

try to go to a old pottery store and go to some orange glazed things and try to test it (or you can just put it near a open smoke detector)

I cannot stand that sound of the Terra P, it's not that familiar ticking that gives me the chills but more like a Tamagotchi on steroids. Is there a way to change that sound? The device itself seems to be one of the best.

that dated segmented display doesn't do it any favors. a shame as many other things seem loyal.. fundamental it should be one solid dosimeter with decent accuracy and range,.
