Hello there! I dont think the differences are due to edition. On their website they literally sell 2 different versions of the deck so u can get the type u preffer - atleast thats what i understood from browsing their website 💙

This is true! The version out now is the "heavy" version and they will release linen version similar to 2nd ed in September!

Thanks Claudi! When I filmed this, I don't think the shop had their versions named yet so I just called it based on when I received the decks. I appreciate you clarifying this and will pin this for others to see :) :)

The classic edition on the left is sold out now but they seem to be printing more. It also looks like they will have both the "classic" and "heavier" versions for people to choose from. What a great idea. The website stated "black core" in the classic versus" "white core" in the heavier version. This made me wonder whether the classic thinner edition has carbon core like Baba Studio's old cartstocks which were thin but VERY sturdy (I accidentally scrunch one card with all the trash and caught it in the recycling bin. The card return to to flat!!). But Zack from The Tiger's Abyss said it is more like that of Game Crafter's. Which from what I remember was pretty bad mainly due to fast chipping of the edges and the bend of the cards which did not bounce back to flat. It seems the classic edition is more practical? If I can't shuffle a deck of cards comfortably, or if I hate shuffling it, I personally don't tend to reach for it. So cardstock talk is a matter of practicality, I don't care what anybody says 😁 (That "Smiling Buddha” 💀 What's up with that I wonder. Did they do it that way on purpose? And if so, for what purpose?) This tarot is everywhere I look it seems LOL Also thanks for the tarot reading at the end 🌷Short, sweet, and to the point.

Yes, it's a great idea!! I think they both have their pros and cons. Honestly, the thinner edition I have doesn't feel anything like Baba Studio's cardstock, which is thin but sturdy. This one legitimiately just feels thin and like it may easily bend and be bowed forever. At the same time, it's much more workable like you mentioned, compared to the heavier edition... It's just difficult to decide which one I like better tbh hahahaha. I think they did it on purpose for the Smiling Buddha but it really isn't a good representation ): ): ): ): ): ): Thanks for commenting Anneke sending you so much love. I always enjoy it when I get an update on how you're doing on your IG stories or on KZbin

I just received a copy of this deck. I really love the artwork - you made me laugh because that 9 of wands totally gives me the hebee jeebees too. It's the one card i done like along with the 9 of cups. Thank you for the walk trough and the comparison.

Finally! :D I'm glad I got the 2nd edition now, I really prefer the linen cardstock & the murky yellow-ish look for these illustrations. As for the Misery Collector, I don't think I'll ever use it bc it's just too specific for me personally. It's hard to see it in a more abstract, interpretative way... Apparently the vessels are inspired by the Splendor Solis, a German alchemical text. You can definitely see a lot of alchemy going on in that suit, it might be interesting to explore it in depth, but for now I've also taken it out of my deck haha.
@BoyDiviner3 жыл бұрын
Yes!! There’s a charm to the “oldness”. I want to try with the Misery Collector but so far in all my readings with the Terra Volatile, it has not turned up so I never really had to reconsider - at least not yet. Thanks for sharing about the vessels! I don’t feel compelled to use them but I’ve incorporated them into my second edition for now and see how I feel about them. Appreciate your comment my friend!!!!

I'm so in love with my third edition. It's not any thicker than the first edition wild unknown or any of Danielle Noel's decks. I also prefer the third edition because with the smooth card stock you get more detail in the artwork that can get lost with a linen finish. I kept all of the extra major cards in my deck but took them out from the minors and I've also removed the vessels suit.
@amandaaustin86913 жыл бұрын
I think I will do the same! I want the expansion pack coming out in September to make a completely customizable deck!
@BoyDiviner3 жыл бұрын
Danielle Noel decks are so thick I only have one but I barely use it because it's so large. At the same time, yeah, I think both decks have their pros and cons it really just depends on what you look for. Linen finishes don't tend to distract from artwork for me but I know it affects others! I also removed the vessels suit hahahah. Thanks for the comment

This video has been so helpful for deciding on which version of the deck to get, so thank you Casper! Also, we picked all of the same cards out of the alternates, and I too am unsettled by that truly bizarre 9oW lol
@BoyDiviner3 жыл бұрын
I’m so glad that we have our alternates in common Logan omg LOL it makes me feel like my taste level is there somehow considering your aesthetic IG feed hahahaha. The 9oW and 9oC are both… weaker points to me in this deck but oh well. Thanks for sharing!!!!

Thanks for the review, I'm definitely getting a copy of this deck. I'm glad I waited, that older cardstock looks way too thin for my preference. I doubt I'll be using the Vessel cards, but I'm looking forward to studying them 😁

I never heard of this deck either. I do like it . I think that if I could get it I would like the linen card stock . The murkier look to me is better. All the different cards you can choose are nice. Also, the extra suit I think I would like to try . You did another good video . Thank you for showing me this one.

I think they've released the linen cardstock again!! And you're so adventurous - I'm still not sure about the Vessels suit. Let me know if you do try and enjoy it. Thanks for watching so much Dawn

✓ Great video. My linen version had Strength misspelled but they mailed me a corrected card. I am in the minority here but I prefer thick card stock.

Hi, Casper! I agree w you that the tarot is already complete. We have all elements plus spirit (majors), but I appreciate the creators’ massive and thoughtful effort to include a new suit and create extra cards. 🙌🏻 I’m kinda leaning towards the classic, linen cardstock version, which will be released next month. What do you think? Lol. It’s 320gsm w black core. 🧐 Also iffy about the 9 of cups and the courts in the wand suit. Hmm… Anyway, thanks for this comparison and the reading, Casper! Appreciate it. Have a great week ahead! 🥰

We have the same iffiness (+ the 9 of Wands for me), so honestly, while I enjoy the deck, those things still bug me lollll. I can't say if the new linen cardstock version will be the same as mine, but if it is... you've to decide whether you want something sturdier and long lasting, versus something more workable and easily shufflable. I've other decks with better linen cardstock than this one so hopefully the new version will improve its sturdiness. If it has a black core, it shouldn't be that bad. Thanks so much for watching Phoebe!!!

Could someone tell me how many gsm are for the linen and the heavier version? Thank you.
@MariusMoonbeam3 жыл бұрын
I really hate thicker cardstock. I enjoy linen cardstock like the Uusi decks so I’m hoping you just have the “heavier” version of the deck and the thickness for the classic version isn’t that terrible. I’m hoping for a slightly thicker linen cardstock or at least a similarly thin cardstock. I genuinely HATE thick cardstock.
@BoyDiviner3 жыл бұрын
I do have the heavier version of the deck Jakiyla!! I don't know how their new linen finish will be like but I hope it meets your needs :) :) :) Thanks for commenting

I was waiting for your comparison! I prefer the linen between the two (although as a linen bendy card stock it can still be better).

Agreed!! At the moment, I like both semi equally but if the linen had a better core, I think it would edge the smooth cardstock one out. Thanks Ledz

Do you know if the artwork is original and done by one of the authors? Or is it historical works that have been digitally altered?

This deck is so beautiful, I wish I can afford it to just appreciate all the art (except for you, 9 of wands). For the 'Fooless', it got an entry in wikitionary but none from the marriam-webster or oxford online dictionary so like, I don't really think it's a real word. And why does we need to put a gender on the fool ? The major arcana for me is more of the energy that is larger than life and putting a gender-defying word just pull back the meaning of the card for me.

9 of wands is so creepy!!!

@BoyDiviner3 жыл бұрын
Yes, Linh I agree!! That's why I find it weird to have to rename the Fool "Foolless". I kind of prefer both of them being named Fool, since Fool isn't "male" presenting, like Hunter vs Huntress. But I also do believe English isn't the creator's first language so I'm trying to be more openminded with it. Thanks for commenting :)

I wonder if the Fooless is in some way a play on the Papess, the predecessor of the Heirophant? One of these days I will overcome my inner cheapskate, buy the deck, and find out for myself 😅🤣

@@mistressmandyz hmmm I honestly don't know either but I kinda not sold on the Fool-ess thing even if that's the reasoning behind it
