I literally just found out about Ronald Bruner Jr. because of this video and had to do my research on him: Bruner Jr.'s dad (Ronald Bruner Sr.) was arguably one of the biggest names in drumming during his time, playing with the likes of Diana Ross & The Temptations. Bruner Jr. has been playing since he was a kid, and began his professional career at 15! Needless to say, lotsa hard work + one dank environment for playing created this beast of a drummer. I re-watched this vid a couple times and I am still shook, can't get enough... WILD. This man became a reference to me from the moment the video started playing.

I think a lot of people are having trouble with what you define as 'Gospel Chops' and what parts of the song you're defining it as. For example, I believe you're talking about fills such as the ones around 5:58 which I'd absolutely define the same way. I imagine a lot of people think you're referring to other shit in the video lol

My student said he wanted to be a drummer and "I'm like, I went to church with this guy who played drums at your age very well and I'm sure he's somewhere playing drums for somebody famous".. He's like what's his name, I'm like Ronald.. he's like Ronald brunner.. than I google it, and it's him., 😂😂😂🤷🏽‍♀️ Lol not surprised at all.. He was this good and serious as a kid... I'm sure he's better because he's older, but he was so good as a kid I would not know the difference....
