Hey Sharpstance, thanks so much for the uploads :) Can you explain what the tile generator does at 10:15? It doesn't seem to change much, maybe I'm just confused about Directional Warp. Thanks!

The directional warp basically replaced what I did here with the tile generator

this program only for material?
@sharpstance14178 жыл бұрын
You can texture models with it too but it might be easier to paint them in Substance Painter

because he didnt cover it. I do wonder why he chose not to. Still trying to get my grasp on this program and how each node plays its part in the bigger picture.

It's no problem. Im more interested in how you go about starting a substance. The way you go through the process of understanding what you need to do to get a desired outcome. Do you have a certain method, and how long would you say it takes for you to make the actual materials?
@sharpstance14177 жыл бұрын
Depends on the material but usually just a couple of hours. The main workload comes from getting the base shapes going, after than you'll find it's pretty much the same concepts applied almost to everything (Like microsurface etc.) Especially on simple shapes, like bricks/rocks/tiles you can be really fast since all you have to do there is add noise for microsurface and you'll end up with some great results

Sharpstance thank you for the insight, I will continue watching your videos until I get through them all and hopefully I could contribute to your cause in the end. struggling college student here, just trying to learn my way into the 3d industry..
