42:22 I have a question regarding providers. Which providers need to be declared in configuration? I see lots of code samples, where provider "aws" is declared, but, for example provider "local" or "clouinit" is not declared. So, I am confused on which providers need to be declared explicitly, while others can be implied automatically by Terraform? Thanks.
@Kumbutranjaami2 жыл бұрын
You have to declare those providers to which you need specific version other than the latest version. You don't need to declare those providers to which you don't have any specific version requirement
@atexnik2 жыл бұрын
@@Kumbutranjaami thank you!
@KodeKloud Жыл бұрын
if you are not using any resources from a particular provider, you do not need to include a provider block for that provider in your configuration. For example, if you are only using resources from the local provider, you do not need to include a provider block for the AWS provider.

Very good tutorial! I just had one question for the last KodeKloud test for Version Constraints, how come for these conditions: version = "> 1.12.0, != 1.13.1, < 1.13.3 " The correct answer given was 1.13.2. Why not 1.13.0? Doesn't 1.13.0 satisfy all 3 conditions?
@KodeKloud Жыл бұрын
"The version constraint ""> 1.12.0, != 1.13.1, < 1.13.3"" can be read as ""greater than 1.12.0, not equal to 1.13.1, and less than 1.13.3"". Based on this constraint, the correct answer is indeed 1.13.2, because it satisfies all three conditions: ""Greater than 1.12.0"": 1.13.2 is greater than 1.12.0. ""Not equal to 1.13.1"": 1.13.2 is not equal to 1.13.1. ""Less than 1.13.3"": 1.13.2 is less than 1.13.3. On the other hand, version 1.13.0 does not satisfy the constraint because it is not greater than 1.12.0 (it is equal to 1.12.0)."
@armyofda12monkeys Жыл бұрын
@@KodeKloud Hmmmm so when you say: "version 1.13.0 ... is not greater than 1.12.0 (it is equal to 1.12.0)."... you are saying these statements: (!(1.13.0 > 1.12.0)) == true (1.13.0 == 1.12.0) == true But both doesn't seem to be true? 1st one to me is false since 13 is greater than 12, so why wouldn't 1.13.0 be greater than 1.12.0??) and "(1.13.0 == 1.12.0)" is clearly false?

I'm really enjoying this course so far. But I've just noticed an issue in your youtube description text above that you might want to update... In the listings of the chapters Lab 2 and Lab 3 are the same title. I think Lab 3 should be a lab called "Providers", but that is actually missing completely on the new site's Labs system. Lab 3 (Lesson 1, Topic 3 as it's called on the Labs) is "Multiple Providers in Terraform" which you have as Lab 4 above. Anyway, from a content point of view, this is a great course so far! Thanks.
