Your thoughts on community at cigar lounges is exactly my conversation with others. I travel for work and make a point to stop in at the local cigar lounge. Doesn't matter what adjective you use to describe yourself, cigars make everyone willing to just enjoy themselves and be personable.

That cigar is of legendary proportion. It must be good stuff for him to enjoy for 6 whole hours. I usually smoke on the back porch with my coffee during the week (or beer if its evening time), and Sunday evenings after church with my brothers and dad.
@BrutusMaximusAurelius2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I usually smoke alone. There are no (inside) cigar lounges left in The Netherlands because of anti smoking laws, there’s no big cigar culture here that I’m aware of and non of my friends smoke cigars on a regular basis. I would love to have a lounge like yours nearby. As for Terrance; you’re a real badass for smoking though that thing!

I was surprised in Amsterdam that they turn a blind eye to some things but don't allow cigar lounges. Some great shops and the cigar taxes aren't as bad as London! Have to create an underground group and smoke at each others places:)

I smoked the woody a couple months ago. Finished it my first attempt. Got it down to the last maybe 2 inches. I noticed two major transitions. It was more cedar in the first third into oak in the second third and coffee in the final third. I felt fine in the beginning, it wasn't until I got into the bands that I started to feel light headed. The B&M I smoked it at gave me a coke on the house because I was getting pale. I decided to call it at 5 hours on the dot and the first words out of my mouth when I set it down was where can I get a burger. I was posting in the CDN Facebook group while I smoked it. I've never felt a stick get strong towards the end but on the woody I felt it hard.

Great effort on the woody Terrence, was fun to watch and the cigar community is one of the only communities in my opinion where everyone is friendly and happy to chat about anything and everything. wish we had more cigar lounges in the UK. Me and 2 of my Rugby mates started a Cigar and whisky club where we can all try new Cigars and Whisky every month and relax in my mates pub/lounge he built in his back garden and now the club has extended to having 8 members.

I don't think I could even smoke up such a cigar, even if I wanted to
@growleym5042 жыл бұрын
I would be seriously unsteady on my feet after smoking half of that. I just looked it up. 100 gauge! That's 1-9/16" diameter! What a buttload of tobacco! I roll my own cigars, mostly using leaf from Leaf Only or Whole Leaf Tobacco, though I did grow tobacco this year and picked about 120 lbs green weight. So far no frost and I should get another 10 lbs or so, green weight, before it's over, because after the major priming, I let the suckers grow out and they are bearing heavily. In a year or two it will be fit to roll. My cigars are mostly old style perfectos, around 70 gauge, and I smoke between 2 and 20 per month, no rhyme or reason, as I find time and as I feel like it. My usual spot is out on the patio, after sunset, with a glass of tawny port. A good tawny, to me, goes with a cigar much better than a glass of whiskey or brandy. I like the hard booze but not with a cigar. The fumes interfere with my cigar enjoyment. I am a retired seaman and I used to always bring Habanos home with me until customs started getting to be real hardasses about 10 years ago, and it got to be not worth the hassle. Plus prices are getting crazy. The last commercial cigars I smoked were Fuente 858's and Hemmingway Short Stories, Dominican Romeo Robustos, and Nubs. The ones I roll myself cost me less than two bucks. The ones I will be rolling in a year or two with my own filler will cost half that. Once I am growing good wrapper and binder, just my labor and the cost of seeds. There are a lot of youtubes on how to get started rolling. It's fun, saves money, and it is cool to smoke a stick that you rolled yourself. I think the wife is going to get me a Woody for Christmas. Honestly I think I will probably cut it into 3 or 4, and apply a panuelo to the head end to hold them together. I really can't see me smoking one in one sitting.

Sadly, my area doesn’t have any cigar lounges that have set hours they are open. They mainly open up when the owners want to smoke or watch sports haha! About an hour from me, there are a couple shops with lounges, but I never have the time to hang around and smoke while I am there. If I smoke with someone, it’s normally my brother, dad, and a handful of friends at gatherings. Otherwise a cold brew and a nice stick on the porch in the evenings is all I need!

This was fun to watch. I can’t imagine being able to smoke that whole thing! I only smoke two or three times a week, so my tolerance is low enough that I still don’t finish a robusto in one sitting. To answer the question at the end, I don’t smoke with anybody! I got into cigars kind of randomly without much outside influence. I’m definitely interested in checking out a local lounge after watching this though. I mostly roll my own cigars and I’d like to be able to share and get the opinions of people with palates more refined than my own.

We don't have clubs or smoke lounges here in Ontario Canada unfortunately. So I smoke either alone or with my partner who also likes a stick every once in a while. I generally sit outside, but since we now have colder temps and 'weather' I have to retro fit my workshop for the winter as a smoke space option. Also being female, it hasn't lent itself to a lot of other women I know that enjoys this hobby. Their loss lol ! Kudos to Terrance wow !

I started smoking Cigars alone after transitioning from Erinmore pipe tobacco, It took sometime but I slowly built a small smoking group of 4 people, In NZ a basic Cigar is $40 so the biggest challenge is everyone being able to afford the activity. I smoke them all but my favorite is Drew Estate and Olivia V series. I always keep a box of Full Cuban Cigars for celebrations, We have a get together planned in February 2023 to celebrate the end of the disaster prime ministers resignation.
