Still to this day, the only good instructive video on form 2 that isn't god awful cringy to watch. Form looks great, and this is easily repeatable for me should I actually find the time to practice. Good job.

Where did you get the curved hilt lightsaber? Is it also a dueling lightsaber?

Did you work on that with a Shoto blade? It seems to work better for me

so makashi is mostly 1 handed blade work? i noticed in the shii-cho video that everything was done with 2 hands but this one was 1 handed. i know the form was created specifically for saber duels, but is it a more formal type of dueling such as proper fencing? and how readily can you work 2 sabers in this form? i know some canon jedi/sith used it depending on the circumstances, but it would be awesome to see the same video done dual wielding.

+Brandt Cothren You're right about Makashi being a formal type of dueling, because it was loosely based off of fencing. It is mostly 1-handed, but two hands were sometimes necessary for extra strength. For instance, when Dooku faced Anakin and his strength-based Shien style.

+Brandt Cothren In the Star Wars canon, Makashi is one handed. In TPLA system, however, it's expanding martial theories from Shii Cho and giving one handed forms for beginners in the TPLA system.

um i got a dumb qusetion..does this style have to be done with curved hilt?
@TerraPrimeLightsaber8 жыл бұрын
+Anthony Williams Nope. It works better with a small straight hilt to be honest. It is just associated with it. Ala Dooku. DN

TPLA:Terra Prime Lightsaber Academy (Light Armory) ah ok cool, i actually ordered a saber from Ultrasabers about a week ago..still waiting for it :( but ill be happy when it gets here. i got a purple blade. i plan on starting to practice when i get it ...just not sure what form to start with or which of your videos to start with.

+Anthony Williams Usually, most people will tell you to start with Shii-Cho as it's the simplest and easiest to learn but if you have a basic understanding of Shii-Cho and lightsaber combat altogether, then I don't see why not to go with Makashi if that's the form you want to learn
