Please, keep in mind that since the idea is fresh, there are a lot of flaws in current design I am absolutely sure the entire community will be able to add a few distinct improvements, so don't take this video as a dogma, but rather as an advice. Some of the possible modifications are already known: - Luck affects the amount of coins dropped (about 15% at max luck, 6% with Garden Gnome and Torch luck) - Once a mech is defeated, you can use Teleporters in conjunction with hoik to send enemies up even faster - Currently, Angler Fish and Piranhas are forced to despawn, but it should be possible to kill them or move them up for an extra income (sadly, hoik doesn't work properly with them since these enemies are too small) Either way, I hope this video breathes life in the money making research and allows you to spend ever so slightly less time mindlessly farming!

It amuses me how much effort people put into building farms when putting the same amount into farming the old-fashioned way can so often get you just as far. I usually kill a few stacks of queen bees and sell her drops for my money. Her summon is the easiest to procure and she takes seconds per fight. That's not to say I don't get the appeal of completing a technical build. The video is great.

@@erichdavis2897 Does not work anymore. The trick was that being in a body of water would cause all aquatic enemies to move in your direction even if they are in a different body of water. So, you would create a small suspended pool of water and watch as all the enemies in the ocean swim up to you. The only thing they would reach, however, is lava.

@@teapouter The old ocean money farm does still work, you just have to design it a bit differently. You have to fill the ocean with blocks and leave a hole in the center (fill it so mobs can't spawn outside the area, and also leave some space enough distance downward for Arapaima to spawn there, and a 1 block hole in the center so the mobs can see you and swim upwards). Fortunately, this also stops Sharks and Jellyfish from spawning too since it won't count as an ocean biome anymore. Iirc, it gets you about 40ish plat per hour (expert mode), but I guess with this new one getting 120ish per hour, it's still better anyway. I mostly kept it to myself since I was afraid Relogic would patch it.

Decent tutorial, but please tell us the measurements of the platform at the top and don't cut the video when you say that it's important to hammer the blocks the same way you did, I've been struggling to keep up because I had to try and count the amount of blocks you placed (which is pretty difficult), if you don't want to add measurements, then it'd be a little more helpful if you activated the Tile Grid option in Interface whilst making a tutorial when being accurate with the block placement matters. I haven't finished the farm but I don't think it'll work because I made my platform a bit differently :/ But that's just a tip of mine, I don't mean anything rude by it :) EDIT: Farm works pretty efficiently, but I had to resort to counting your torches to see how many blocks were placed, but the farm is great!

I remember seeing a much simpler and more inefficient version of this back in 1.2. People would still use lucky coin + a slime summon, but the setup was made in the ocean with temple blocks for jungle spawns and spawn rate. I think ocean biome was chosen to remove angler fish spawns? I didn't even think to consider the fact that the individual i-frame buff massively increases productivity. The hoik is a very nice touch, as well as the cavern for increased spawns. Kudos.

Yeah, this video is practically an evolution on the ocean arapaima farms, with a sole exception of angler fish appearing (but this is outscaled by better spawn rates)

small helpful tip for any1 planning to build this farm: u might will get lots of arapaima banners, but don't place ANY of them. the reason is because placing them will give a bonus against arapaimas, and that bonus will cause the summons to deal more than 1 damage to the arapaimas-even more than 11 damage, on master mode. this could decrease the efficiency of the farm since the arapaimas take less hits to kill, so as a conclusion: don't place arapaima banners. edit: u can also drop down from the afk spot to the lava place underneath, since there will be lots of coins lying down in there from whatever mobs that were dying while ur afking. the summons will continue to attack the arapaimas in the farm so there's no need to worry about them at all. u can also place walls in the whole dug-out area (which is EXTREMELY tiring). i recommend placing platforms every few blocks and then placing background walls everywhere while standing on the platforms. it will help with the spawn rates of the arapaimas + it will decrease the chances of u getting killed by stuff like jungle bats. don't place any walls inside the arapaima spawn pool tho since it will stop them from spawning/

If you are pretty far in the game (can mine temple blocks), you can make this farm without needing mud or a jungle biome. It doesn't take much blocks (like 20-30) for them to spawn, and it doesn't change the biome. On a multiplayer server, the spawn rate of mobs is separate for each player, and stacks. Chuck a water candle down, and have some friends join you at the farm with their own minions and gold coins. However, it might be worth it to bump up the damage as well to capitalize on the boosted spawn rate, that way you also get the money from killing em. Also, remember what I said about temple blocks? You can get them to spawn in different biomes, allowing you to make a biome key farm where you just change out a bunch of blocks nearby and still use arapaimas, as well as get souls for extra cash if ya use evil biome or hallow.

heres a tip i use: grab like a few hundred dungeon bricks, and then make a floor, or even a ceiling and wall out of those so you dont dynamite too far down. you basically just make the outline of the box, and then you wont be exploding anything beyond what you need to as long as you have the width and height right! i use dungeon bricks all the time for clearing out boxes for farms. also great job at the farm! i knew they kinda broke the ocean one that made the arapaimas just come to you, surprisingly i didnt think of hoiks, and i never would have thought to use 3 summons with different s! EDIT/unrelated: i plan on trying to make some of my own farm designs, but I want to get a good journey mode character for that. I know RoD farms are kinda not as possible anymore, but i want to see if i can make one, since there arent many pure chaos elemental farms out there, but i found one a while back that used the fact they teleport, and it lets everything else despawn. I'd like to test more on that idea if i can, but 1.4 made it so they dont spawn if you're not moving afaik

The dungeon brick trick is really good, I approve! As for RoD farms, iirc there are a few ways to make game think your character is moving while AFK (conveyor belts aren't one of them, sadly). And it's pretty easy to get a full Journey Mode character on terrasavr website, there is a specific button to unlock all researches!

You can also just build a box on the surface of the ocean and make it a jungle biome to achieve basically the same effect (although with a slower spawn rate). As long as you’re standing in a water pocket on top of the killing area, the fish will swim right to you

Does more minions mean more money? With the gear in his video you can still spawn up to 5 slimes that do only 1 damage. But he only spawns 3 so I'm wondering if there is really any benefit. Also he didn't really make it clear. He mentioned there are 3 staffs that work well. Do you summon one minion from each staff? Or pick one staff and summon 3 of the same minions?

IF YOU ARE HAVING BATS SPAWN: 1) Stand in the center of the completed farm 2) Place 2 wires, one as far left and the other as far right as your screen allows 3) Use sand or another gravity affected block on the same Y axis as the wires to make the area smaller 4) Fill in any areas outside of the new box made with the wires and sand. I did this and it completely eliminated the bats spawning. I only did it on one side, because bats spawned (only for me, idk about anyone else) on the left side of the cleared out area. TL;DR: Area too big, make it the size of screen from left to right when standing in the center of the farm.

Honestly, if you really want money, all you would need is a solar eruption, a pumpkin medallion, and a little bit of building. If you get it right, you can easily just completely farm the pumpkin moon with all of the hearts that they drop and then sell all of the drops to get more money. It's not extremely efficient, usually about 20 plat a night, but it's really easy to use and build.

tbh you can get almost 100 platinum per night with the pumpkin moon, you can afk it by using the zenith, aiming slightly over your character where the pumpking usually stands and then disconnecting the mouse while pressing it so it keeps using the zenith, with solar armor the hearts dropped from the pumpking are enough to keep you alive(normal mode), then you can also add honey, heart lanterns and campfires if you want, you have to sell all the weapons but you have the whole day to do so, it's not 100%afk but still way faster

Moon events are way more potent in terms of money making, but they also are far later in progression. The farm in the video is available before any mech boss. That being said, I should do the research to see if Pumpkin Moon can be a better farm at pre-Golem tier, at least

in 1.4 they changed the way water mobs aggro so that they will only pursue you if you were in the same body of water as them, so now you need to find creative ways to bring them close

For anyone in the comments if you build it as the video says you will not get jelly fish but you have to make the arena smaller on the sides to make it so bats do not spawn

Just a note for anyone doing this in multiplayer, the farm is way slower when there are multiple people on the server for some reason.

game can only have so many mobs spawning at once im guessing. multiple people means more enemies means less enemies in your farm

I found that in the switch version if you use Medusa’s head on eater of worlds, it duplicates the eater of worlds. I had over 10 stacks of scales and two of demonite ore before I realized what was happening!
