I'd recommend watching some of his old build tip videos and using some of the techniques. Looking at other builds and taking inspiration is also good.

I seldom make builds without paint. When I do, it's likely because the furniture has revolting painted sprites and the blocks are fine as is.

Im half-half. Normally I build without paint because I find it a massive headache to consider each and every color, but if something has a texture that i really love I will try to paint it because of the texture i.e mahogany door and dresser, shadewood sofa, dynasty shingles

I rarely used paint until I realized just how great various Brown painted blocks look when fitted into some standard wooden houses. Dynasty Wood and Bamboo especially. Now it's starting to branch into other things. Traps and other shenanigans included lol

I'm a Terraria Player; not a Terraria builder. I very rarely take the time to paint up my 'houses'. Especially since I'm still in the process of making them not just one-layer jail cells. *tl;dr of following paragraphs:* I've traditionally only ever used paint for very minor accents, but I am starting to use it more. Also, it is nice to see some really amazing builds that don't rely on paint to make them look cool. ;) I do have a bit of fun with the painter's room every time he shows up (have every time I ever get him). I even occasionally make carpets in some of the rooms using shadewood as the floor, and painting several rooms in various darker colors to look like carpet. But I can only recall ONE building where I went in and actually painted most of it. It was a winter lodge I built over the course of a couple weeks while my two buddies were off doing other things. I didn't want to "jump tech levels" on them and severely outclass them whenever we finally DID get back together. So while I was waiting a few days, I took the original pile of rooms we started with on the beach (celebration seed) and made it into a sort of a mishmash of castle-sized sandcastle-ish design; complete with roof gardens (for alchemy). Thankfully I encouraged them to at least build it asymmetrically, so it wasn't hard to just add blocks and walls to make it look interesting. Turned out alright, and impressed them when they finally made it back. I only used a couple swatches of paint to accent some HOIK emergency exits in the structure. And MAYBE used paint just on the furniture in one of the rooms, to try and break up the sameness of other rooms. Then I spent an evening or two working out some interesting roofing ideas on a bridge in the jungle biome. The bridge is technically non-symmetrical, but only because I accidentally added a single block to one of the sides when I was building. Roof turned out amazing, but the whole thing is basically just four hotel rooms (better than jail-cells, at least) on fence-stilts. This was one of the first times I used paint to make carpets for the NPCs. The building is still optically symmetrical and I don't intend to change it anytime soon. I'm actually waiting for the overly-organized (but not quite OCD) guy to notice it. But since I was trying to make it easy to run under the house (but still cross a pretty big fishing lake) it really just looks like a clunky suspension bridge that I accidentally built to far off the ground. lol After that, I dug the wellivator (not a typo, just how I prefer to call it) for our world, so that when we all got to that tech level, it would be easier to access and conquer quickly. When it became obvious that we weren't going to get the chance to game for another week either; THEN I set about actively trying to design an interesting ski-lodge looking cabin over in the ice biome. And since I had a week, and not much else I could do without jumping tech levels (we hadn't even gotten to the point where we could all have enough hearts for EoC to show up) I really took my time. THAT building has a good amount of paints for carpets, paints for some of the fancy glass-fixtures on the main floor, AND some old-looking painted beams in the house walls. So, all that, just to say. "While I don't usually have the motivation to paint, I can appreciate its power and appeal... But I can also see it becoming a crutch as you build more and more things that rely on paint to make it look 'good' that you forget that paint is how you make things look AMAZING, not just good. It was nice to see something AWESOME that was just base materials. :)"

Hey Khaios ever thought about using the gem locks? It would be pretty fun to watch you make buildings where a secret door opens using gem locks. I also have this idea where the color of the build corresponds with the gem.

I feel like replacing the normal Terraria trees around the build with the new sakura trees from the saplings would give it a bit more pink, without having to worry about the hallow. Great job nonetheless, I hope one day we can see this build revisited and painted for a comparison.

Terraria, but i build with only natural blocks -Rules Any blocks from natural spawn can be used such as The tree decor Items that spawn Natural items are fine Paints Allowed Crafted Blocks Not Allowed, obv Hard mode and Other Blocks as long there spawned by Game is allowed

Man the build is really great, sadly for me I could never get it right. Even if I copied the builds exactly of what you do, and other well known Terraria builders, I feel I’m not expanding my own builds as my own. Suggestion: now you build the exact same thing, same format, but you can use different blocks and paint. (Maybe save that world, copy and use block swap?)

Here's a lil' story how I met terraria Back when I was 7 or 8 I wanted minecraft but I didn't knew that you could download it on the internet or something (and I needed a Windows 10 but I only had 7) My mother or grandma bought it for my birthday and they didn't knew what minecraft was so they accidently bused tarraria and I was kinda sad and grumpy or angry but I it took like 2 - 3 days till' I could play it and I didn't had steam. One year later the laptop broke once and I got blamed but my sisters were playing it too and the second it broke was because my lil' went on the laptop and took it to play it while I was just for a minute gone so I took it of the table and sat on the couch with the laptop and it broke one day after
