Long overdue explanation, but the reason the loot vault for the Wall of Flesh changing size is the overlapping of two systems. Firstly, the hitbox of an entity will change based on the size parameter. This is mostly in place for the sake of easily adding slime variants, though a couple other enemies use it. Secondly, the Wall of Flesh spawns blocks of ore that match the hitbox of its mouth, likely as a shortcut method to determine where to place the vault without concern for the unique "squash and stretch" mechanic of the boss. Because of this overlap, if you were to resize the boss, the hitbox would resize with it, and thus the vault would spawn in matching this resized hitbox.

Wonder if there's a way to make the water/lava rise up by a block every night. Maybe more blocks for speed. Would be interesting to see how quick one can start from scratch and beat the game before the world is flooded. Perhaps have it start from the bottom of the map and rise up to replace empty spaces with water/lava, or a seperate version where floods start from the ocean and creeps it's way inland, flooding everything from the outer edges first, making the corruption chasms become soft barriers to buy time.
