This reminds me of the first time I killed the Twins. I had been struggling in vain to try to kill one of the mechanical bosses, until I finally decided to build a sky bridge to take them on with. Sure enough, I managed to take out the Twins at long last with only a sliver of remaining health. And then when I dropped down from the sky bridge, a Giant turtle jumped up at me from absolutely nowhere and killed me instantly.

I don't care what anyone says. This is one of the better boss fights in Terraria. It always keeps you on your toes, and always keeps you moving. Sure. When you get the endgame Hardmode gear, it becomes super easy, which is why I think they should have a Hardmode version of this boss. Making it tougher, but drops new gear, that surpasses the old ones you get. Like Berserker Emblem, which would be a much better upgrade then the warrior emblem, and etc.

I have a theory that the wall of flesh isn't bad, cus when you kill it it says "ancient spirits of light and dark have been released" so technically it was a barrier or protecting something from us... Trying to keep the monsters at Bay but could not fully do so, so when we kill it we essentially break the barrier that it was trying to uphold for us and the rest of the world thus turning the world into hardmode and letting the powerful monsters that were sealed away roam free to wreak havoc on this world. But when you do kill it it entrusts the power of the pwnhammer to you hoping one day you kill the moon Lord and break the curse it was protecting from this world for many years.

Because this boss is the final Pre-Hardmode Boss. All of the other bosses aren't so important. Only the Twins and the WoF have this theme. Don't know why The Twins have it though.

Jascu Alex Both themes have sort of a chase theme, to back this up, the Wall of Flesh moves forcing you to run, as do the Twins especially Spazmatism who after sending fireballs or using the flamethrower effect will rush at you making your instant reaction to fly away.

I have an awesome idea! If there was a second version of WOF! It would have Retinizer and Spazmatism as the eyes, Mini The Destroyers as the leaches, EOC As the mouth (second form EOC), and a giant metal wall as the flesh wall. He would be super hard and can only be summoned in Hardmode. He is summoned by the Mechanical Voodoo Doll. And he shoots a bunch of lazers and cursed flames! :0

I have a theory: and if the twins' irises are actually containers of these attacks? when you do enough damage to them, they break, and the fire that releases the retinator escapes and that is why it makes a continuous attack, and spasmatizator takes out its laser and begins to attack with the beam at its maximum power, this was done as a security measure in case these were damaged, as a last resort, because if they had that form all the time, they would have to recharge more often, something for which they were not planned

I gotta say, that weird "ramping-up" effect, which plays at 0:05 right before the melody kicks in, has got to be one of the most iconic parts in any OST for me ever. Theory: when you throw the guide vodo into the lava his body begins to become corrupt. Turning into this giant wall of flesh, the reason this only happens to the guide( bc you can get a old man vodo doll of corse ) is because he is not human. When you speak to the tavern keep, he explains that "the guide gives off a creepy vibe to that for the ethena Cristal. Which obviously does not make humans for you to fight. Same with the other npc they always say things like "he gives off in human vibes".

I like to think of the Wall of Flesh as the pre-hardmode final boss. Think about it. Pre-hardmode, where all of your gear does 30 damage *at best* and Hell is one of the most dangerous places you can reach, has a boss where you lose the Guide who's been with you from the very beginning and forces you to fight a giant mound of blood and guts that is constantly moving toward you. You have to consistently dish out damage *while* running through HELL *and* dodging his attacks. No other pre-hardmode boss is quite like this one. Not to mention to change in boss music.

So did I. In fact, it was that boss fight that got me the ps3 achievement that you get for having 5 buffs activated at the same time. I had ironskin, archery potion, shine potion, obsidian skin (in case I ran out of runway and fell in lava), feather falling, gravitation potion, swiftness, and regen lol. I also had the Sharanga which had the deadly enchant on it and about 2000 hellfire arrows and a fiery greatsword with the legendary enchant on it. I dont have that sword anymore as I used it to forge the night's edge, but yeah.
