Hi Zero Gravitas. So I ended up watching this one even though I already finished my mobile base. This is a really compact one. The one I built though has scrappers, fabricators, generators, and sellers built into it. Makes it more complex....and reaaly big. If I can make it as compact as this one that would be awesome. You did give me lots of ideas though. Thanks!
@ZeroGravitas7 жыл бұрын
Cool, glad you enjoyed my video. :-) And true, unlike the previous, smaller crafting tech, I didn't bother with a generator on this one. Also, it's still early in this campaign, so I don't have all the scrappers/Fabricators for the different corporations, but we'll get there. :-) The biggest example tech in my crafting guide (the "Godzilla", heh) does have all those, though. I hope to make a mobile version of that too, as I recently did for my "Perhonen" (on the Workshop).

You only ever encounter a true crafting problem with this when you need more of a raw resource, not a refined one.
@ZeroGravitas7 жыл бұрын
So, TerraTechies - where do we go from here, in episode 4? I have quite a few things in mind for the rest of the series, but I'm curious to hear viewer's perspectives, if there are some things that people would particularly like to see. :-) Terrarians - content soon™. (Hang in there.)

ZeroGravitas Well since you already make a giant mobile refinery, how about you make a refinery able to craft everything on the go flying? I wonder if minerals/components will bug on conveyors at high speed lol. Also if you make components to sell, are this better than the value of raw or refined minerals?
@ZeroGravitas7 жыл бұрын
Hey Rodriobr. Sure, Components sell for a little bit more than their refined ingredients sell for. Like ~25% for each tier, up to double for Exotic components, like Seed AI. But you still can't make a profit from processing resources bought from the shop, because they cost 3x more. I definitely want to make a flying crafting base in a video. Unfortunately you need to be anchored in order to fabricate anything, though, otherwise I'd also like to make blocks while winning a Venture race. ;-) The resources won't generally fall off the conveyors until you go over ~70mph, or hit bad bumps.
@Rodri93337 жыл бұрын
Oh that's true, i forgot that you should be anchored to craft, silly me i apologize. Thanks for the hint of the components!

How about making a vehicle for speed and mobility instead of crafting?
@ZeroGravitas6 жыл бұрын
Sure, sometime. But crafting techs, particularly mobile crafting, are something you just don't see on KZbin. Although, for next episode I've been planning to make a non-crafting tech actually...

I thought I was inventive but after this video I realized that I have a long way to go ... in these 3 videos there is really a lot to think about and a lot to inspire ... really congratulations for the design of your tech, simply brilliant PS. I need a fourth chapter lol

I'm happy you found my videos while still enthused by this great game. There's a lot of crafting concepts I didn't manage to show, yet, that I meant to make quick, little videos on at the end of last year! You can check out my "Complete Crafting Guide" on Steam for links to some of the Workshop techs I have lined up. Or rather, just have a play yourself - I don't want to spoil other player's fun by showing off *all* the 'best' ways to do everything. ;-)
@predur41366 жыл бұрын
ZeroGravitas in fact I try not to make too many spoilers by just looking at a ton of video, but one of my main problems was to make the collectors and conveyors work, I realized the refinery bug alone but now I have some more ideas to create more efficient tech

After seeing your video, i just bought this game because it made me think to factorio ou modded minecraft and i really enjoyed it. But it so sad there is not a lot of guide on this incredible game!!
@ZeroGravitas7 жыл бұрын
Nice. :-) The crafting side of TerraTech is still definitely very overlooked! It's pretty over-powered, if you get it to work properly. Hence me trying to step in with some videos. ;-) The main problem being all the weird bugs it still has (see my Steam guide, linked above). It's no where near as involved as Factorio's crafting (a game *entirely* about that kind of automation, of course). And it's logic is sometimes a little counter-intuitive, if you 're used to certain things. (Just a couple little warnings up-front there.)

@ZeroGravitas7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Lathland's the biggest regular KZbinr, it seems. It's had a very long Early Access period, and lost it's shine. Quiet patch at the moment, but think once it gets to version 1.0 a few of the big guns will come back out. But personally, I thrive in the in-between times. :-)

Your videos are so chill and instructive. Can't wait to see your next video ( btw you have to post them 2 by 2 from now on ). Do you intend to build a base? bc it s when it went sour in my first playthrough (lag, bug, etc.) and I'd love to see your take on this. But I'm sure you have more original things in reserve. keep it up!
@ZeroGravitas7 жыл бұрын
Thank you kindly. :-) I'm not sure about always doing 2 at the same time (it would just delay the first one a lot), but I'm definitely planning to show full crafting bases in future episodes. ;-) If you want to get a sneak peek on some of those, you can check out my Complete Crafting Guide (on Steam). E.g. section 10. I spent quite a while getting to grips with all those bugs you talk about, and figuring the best ways to avoid FPS drops, hangs, etc: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1191458767

you know ZG, ur comment when you were building the pylons has kinda set me off, for my cascade powerhouse, my old campaign vehicle, was a combo of triangle and pyramid design, had the ability to carry alot of guns, and is about as high, but about half the length of the Determinist!
@thegamingender69335 жыл бұрын
but, it was not a mobile base, it was a real tank
@ZeroGravitas5 жыл бұрын
You mean that I got you riled up? Gun pyramid vs weapon pylon, FIGHT!(?) You are keeping in mind that the Determinist is almost entirely a crafting setup, by size and weight? And that having 2 (or 3) guns on either face of a pylon block is indisputably lighter than 1 gun per pyramid block... ;-)
@thegamingender69335 жыл бұрын
@@ZeroGravitas yeah, but I call the cascade powerhouse my "first breakthrough" even though it comes from a line of cascades, for it is more of a mobile powerhouse, and the pyramid/triangle combination actually lets the 3-pound cannons fire and have a good turn radius, and most of the cannons fire when circling the enemy
@thegamingender69335 жыл бұрын

I am tinkering with a new design, and it's first "stable" build(the first was named the block probe, but it was unstable and was not really effective, so I did not share it. I did use the concept for it with the scavenger, though) revealed to the public as the scavenger.

@ZeroGravitas6 жыл бұрын
Hey. Well, I don't think there's much call for hauling things, but I've been thinking of a small team of medium sized combat drones (in several episodes time). I think they'd have Venture Monster truck wheels (most important part for getting them to work), a couple big canons and missiles each.

I dont really understand why there are so few enemies around when you’re building, is this just a feature or a bug?
@ZeroGravitas6 жыл бұрын
It's just the simple behaviour of the spawn algorithm and enemy AI. New enemies are always deployed between 200-300m away from you. Maximum of 4. Any enemy beyond 200m has their AI disabled. So, if you just sit still, then nothing new can reach you (after clearing out the nearby stuff). Also, during my first building session, the terrain was too rough for them to approach, and I didn't have a radar on, so you couldn't see the existing spawns on the mini-map.

Lol, you mean because the SCU is so heavy? Yeah. My "Determinist" build, here is a little prone to toppling sideways too. Probably needs a slightly wider wheel base, like it used to have.
@solidus31685 жыл бұрын
Well if it flips AND does everything it does that is better than my doodood techs rolling down everything end over end rather than on wheels. Sometimes i wonder why i put wheels on it. I roll faster than i drive. ;p
