I like how they actually sort of made Mars a nation in this. Little details like their ships being named after Martian landmarks (SDS Olympus Mons, SDS Phobos, SDS Tharsis) is a really cool touch.

Criminally underrated campaign. The attention to detail throughout the campaign and all over the Retribution made it nice to explore, even if they were set pieces changing between missions. Lots of battle chatter/background dialogue between NPCs made it feel like your crewmates actually had their own duties to attend (to).

33:14 farewell, brave Jackal's pilot
@JackBlpck427 Жыл бұрын
I think my favorite part of this mission was the random unnamed pilot’s sacrifice. I don’t think there’s any other death in the mission (besides Nick and Ethan of course) that more encapsulates “finish the mission” than this random pilot at 33:01 that runs out of ammo and immediately decides to ram it without hesitation. That kind of stuff is why IW is probably now my favorite COD campaign
@Aphexion9 ай бұрын
Yes!!! And how your character reacts to it, that "Fair Wings" while the pilot was still talking made it feel so natural. I played the game when it came out and I loved it but I missed that part, maybe I was not paying attention. I noticed I was not the only one because recently Ive been looking for this specific scene and watched many videos of this CoD "memorable deaths" or "best moments" and all of them miss this pilot's sacrifice! I replayed it last week and it caught me completely off guard. Seeing that pilots determination, the way the whole scene is carried out made me reaffirm that this game is an underrated and hidden gem. It is so sad that many people hated on it and didn't even give it a try.
@TheOrderOfDanos2 жыл бұрын
I was really surprised by the worldbuilding quality in this. CoD Vanguard was a pile of bantha sh*t. The Settlement Defence Front and the whole makeup of Mars, the atmosphere, the Admiral, general details in levels, they were all fantastic. I was so shocked to see the wholly negative response from people over this, I personally think that it's because many casual gamers didnt appreciate the detail, and their voices were louder than many of us that love this stuff, they just want pew pew and some bad acting and simple concepts that play to stereotypes.
@highoverseer93232 жыл бұрын
i mean this kinda thing is pretty common now, the new game is immediately put down as garbage until the next one in the series comes out and then suddenly it's "a missed masterpiece" i never understood how people didn't like the campaign for Infinite, the whole time you see a soldier trying to view a war idealistically and trying to play by the books against an enemy that has no qualms breaking those rules. by the end your character understands this and sacrifices in his mind everyone, to ensure the mission is complete and earth will survive, sprinkled in with stuff like Omar and Ethan gaining a respect for one another, letting you actually get attached to the characters, that story is genuinely unique.

this game is a halo prequel. the interplanetary wars from the 22 century were a conflict in the halo universe in which distinct human colonies located across the solar system fought with each other, basically what happens here. the unsa is basically just one letter away from being called unsc, the space and military organization from halo that serves the same purpose as the unsa in this cod. the name could have changed (like how the cia was called oss, or office of strategic services), its 400 years between this game and halo: ce. now that microsoft bought activision, this could be true due to not existing legal problems anymore. plus, this would also mean that the mw trilogy happened in the halo universe.

I think the main reason why people shit on this game is because of its futuristic/sci-fi element and people are getting tired of it. Not only that, most people play for the multiplayer sadly so balancing and futures within the game mode probably played a big part in why this game got so many negative reviews In my opinion, COD infinite ranks quite high in terms of story and plot(not comparable to black ops and Modern Warfare) but in terms of one shot story campaigns, COD infinity ranks within the top three for me. I'll give my reasons and y'all can shit on me for this 1: the way they portray the leader/MC. unlike most COD games where you're not in a leadership role(even if you are in one, the biggest would be a squad), this COD game makes you a commanding officer of a ship, which is huge. At first, he was hesitant about sacrificing his crew to complete the mission, after several missions, you'll see he gets over this, leading the charge with whatever remains of his crew to get on that orbital shipyard and destroy it. Sacrificing himself in the process. 2: the world building The plot is... Alright to a degree I won't dive too deep into it. But the ships, the world and the war between the colony and earth is quite well done(although the concept or your enemy single handedly wiping your ENTIRE navy in fleet week is stupid in my opinion but hey, who cares about some KZbin comment amirite...) 3: the AI/characters in the game Ethan fucking carried the game with his character. He's an absolute G. There's probably more I can add. But yeah those are some of my reasons why I rank infinity quite high(let's ignore the multiplayer...)

It came out during a period when Infinity Ward was throwing out Call of Duty titles like it was cheap popcorn, and it was tainted by that association. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a 2016 first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision. It is the thirteenth installment in the Call of Duty series and was released worldwide for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 4, 2016. Development of Infinite Warfare began during 2014. It is the first title by Infinity Ward under the new three-year development cycle for the Call of Duty series. The game's campaign is centered around a battle for the Solar System, which the Settlement Defense Front (SDF), a hostile force who are the main antagonists, are attempting to take over. The player takes control of Lieutenant Nick Reyes of the Special Combat Air Recon (SCAR). They have their own transforming fighter, named "Jackal", that they can customize as well as a central hub ship named Retribution. Infinite Warfare's announcement trailer was noted for its strong negative reaction; it was the second-most-disliked video on KZbin at the time. Commentators attributed this to Call of Duty fans expressing frustration at the direction the series had taken, specifically that the game and its predecessors had futuristic settings. Nevertheless, the game received generally positive reviews upon release; it received praise for its gameplay, characters, and Zombies mode, but criticism for its multiplayer mode, while its single-player campaign received mixed opinions. It was named as Best Shooter at E3 by Game Informer and was nominated for several awards. Infinite Warfare underperformed in sales compared to previous Call of Duty titles, though it was the top-selling game in the US in November 2016. Special editions of Infinite Warfare were released with a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, entitled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. Great Game for the Gamer of War.

Those who hated infinite warfare must have a really bad taste in games. I loved the campaign. Throughout the journey, you come across a lot of supporting side characters who aren't that critical to the main story, unlike Omar, Ethan and Salter but you kind of get attached to them. And then towards the end, they all die. Gibs, Gator, Boats or MacCallum to name a few. Then you hear the post credit messages of them, which is so heartbreaking. The only thing I hated about this campaign is that it was very short. I would've loved nothing more than a longer campaign.
