DQOTD: Cats. But the cats should be a natural distraction for the dogs, that instead of being blind, are deaf. Then when they see us, they try to approach making loud noises (attracting the dogs) and when spot a dog, they run away with it I guess that'd be an interesting way to give a crew a slight heart attack 😅 Also, Max... Doug's question: I'd say snakes but we already have Tulip Snakes (even though they're not snakes) and it would only feed the bad stigma around snakes anyways. So how about something like a Ghost Canary monster only found ins mineshafts? But instead of being aggressive, it tries to warn you against monsters... which only tells the monsters where you are.

Cats only meow at humans because we can’t hear the noises they make to talk to eachother, so imagine this: a cat outside that when they see a player, they approach and meow loudly, but dogs can hear them, and when a dog gets too close to the cat the cat explodes- exploding kittens….

So, there is a way to trigger landmines by jumping over them, it just involves an extra step which is the person jumping both needs a piece of scrap and said scrap has to light so the sprint speed isn't impacted by the weight.

DQOTD: I could see multiple different pets being added that I would enjoy. Cats are a logical next step, though idk what they'd do. Parrots could be a method of finally bringing Skinwalkers/Mirage into the base game- they can't kill you directly but they can hang around other monsters and repeat phrases your friends have said. Snakes could be a less annoying Kidnapper Fox, lurking in the plant life and biting you when you get close. We could get fish in the form of some sort of sea monster.
