My sister and I had one Dawn doll each and no fashion packs. Mine looked like your original but she had a different dress than any you showed. My dress was a halter mini with vertical stripes on the top and solid rose color for the skirt part. I also cut her hair at an angle to try to get that feathered hairstyle! My sister's Dawn came with a bubble haircut, a head band with long hair attached; a long hair braid, and her dress was a shimmery pink mini dress! I was envious of my childhood friend who had many Dawns, friends, and fashions. I hope to own one again someday! Thanks for sharing!

I loved my Dawn dolls! I remember getting The Fashion Show for Christmas that you put their little feet in the plastic holders and they would move and spin.

I love Dawn dolls. I had several in the early 70s, they were a perfect fit for my big white colonial dollhouse. No frumpy family dolls for me, lol. Also, Tonka made a metal winnebago that had a boy and girl doll set included and were the exact size of the Dawn dolls. So my and my sister's Dawns went camping in the winnebagos and rode small size Breyer model horses. My dad made a little wood horse trailers that attached to the back of the winnebagos so the dolls could transport their favorite horses. My sister and I had so much fun with these things. Tho we did have to make a trip to the ER when my sister got a tiny shoe stuck in her nose.

Wow! Thank you so much. What a walk down memory lane. Happy memories. I'd gotten one at the Fabulous Forum. On the way in to see the Awsome Harlem Globetrotters. There was souvenir carts, where they'd sold Dawn's.

Fun video, thanks for sharing your beautiful childhood collection. Just a few notes I have to share: Dawn doll faces were hand painted so no two looks exactly the same~unlike Barbie. Also there are different head mold numbers and letters that you can see on the back of their heads (I believe Dawn herself had the most~at least six variations including some with hard smaller heads). All the other Dawn friends had their own head molds and less variations. Maureen, Melanie, Glori, and Locklocks each had a few different head molds. Fancy Feet was made with a couple of the same head molds as Maureen with dark blue eyes instead of light brown eyes. Majorette Connie had a couple of the same head molds as Angie (Connie having blue eyes glancing right while Angie's eyes are brown glancing to her left). Majorette Kip had the same head mold as Longlocks (Kip with brown eyes, Longlocks with blue). Your dancing doll is a Dancing Dawn. Fancy Feet has lighter blonde hair than Dawn. Of all the Dale dolls I have ever come across, no two has had the same head mold numbers.

Yay Dawn dolls! I didn’t have them because I was still fairly young but I remember playing with my cousin’s dolls when she was too old for them, when my aunt used to babysit me. Your collection is outstanding. My big thrill was Supersize Barbie!

I wish I’d kept my Dawn collection like I did my Barbies. I think I had all the dolls and most of the clothes and the carrying case. The blue and white Dawn dress brought back so many memories of my 1970s childhood. I’m also a redhead and Glori was my favorite though I loved them all. Thank you for sharing.

Nice to have your originals! Your Dawn is the original Dancing Dawn not Fancy Feet. FF has straight hard legs that do not bend. Nice collection!

I still have mine.. looking to let them go.. :-( I once had the Dawn Fashion Show which was so cool. It was so huge and had stands on a runway that went through the 'stage' wholes, and made them turn and pose at the front of the stage then return 'behind stage'. Triki Miki was Dawn's size but had articulation. They came in three hair colors, was long and they came wearing flowered jumpsuits.

Dawn dolls faces were hand-painted, so no two look alike. My mean mom hid my Dawn dolls from me for over 45 years, when she moved, I got them back. What is funny about that, because she did that, they are in sweet condition. I have 5 gals and a Gary. Plus a decapitated head. lol.

I loved your video! I recently found my three Dawn dolls, Dawn, Glori, Angie in an old box in the attic. Ok... I'm going on 60 now. These dolls are in remarkable shape, but they look different than any of the Dawn dolls I'm seeing online or on eBay. Their clothes have Dawn labels. Their eyes look straight ahead, not to the side, which is totally different than your dolls or any other Dawn dolls I see. I have the Neat Pleat dress. Glori does not have bangs. They have the 'holes' in the feet for standing on something. They DO NOT have green knees! They have the undies just like your dolls. I'm so curious as to why mine are different. I do have a daughter, born I'm 1994, but I don't think I bought her these?? Are these newer ones?? How can I tell??

Oh, how interesting ... Congratulations on rediscovering your Dawn treasures. I have no idea about the eyes -- I must confess that I never really noticed that about Dawn dolls (or never really thought about it). Maybe someone on here knows how / why they are different Dawn dolls. I don't own any of the newer (anniversary) reissue dolls; the only newer type I own is the Starr. But it's intriguing how many variations there are of these dolls! I have seen them in the Facebook groups, so I bet someone in those groups could ID yours, as well.
