Despite this it should be noted that it's neighbor south korea, and the korean peninsula as a whole is the second most civilized non european nation right before japan's meiji revolution in 1868, korea's was in 1894 (it could of been earlier but korea was turned into a semi colony by backwards china in 1882 after korea was opened by japan in 1876) with the declaration of the korean empire when japan helped to regain korea's full autonomy after the japanese victory in the sino japanese war, and the abolishment of medievalism into the capitalist globalized world system, which the rapid self modernization promptly ended after the japanese victory over the russians in 1905, in which japan turned korea into a semi colony. This was the only time korea had been fully conquered, and compared to all eastern european countries with their centuries of vassalage and colonization in the medieval and modern era, korea's was only 35 years, right on par with many western nation's and even imperialist nations such as sweden during the kalmar union, portugal during the iberian union, spanish and austrian control of the lowlands, norman french rule of england, etc etc.
@KaeyK.17 күн бұрын
f you really think about it, east asia's China is simply russia without the european peninsula. Also it would be much more correct to say that it is in the northern europe, because sweden like south korea is only a country away from russia - and the geographies of northeast asia and northern europe - or should we say northwestern eurasia and northeastern eurasia - are remarkably similiar, with moscow and tokyo blocking korea's access to the pacific (anglo america), whilst oslo and copenhagen are blocking sweden's access to the north sea (brittania). Eastern europe from a simply GEOGRAPHICAL view - from the baltic eastern germany, adriatic itslian province of venezia, swedish sapmi to ukraine-belarus-finland-baltics - simply do not have that much geographical freedom of navigation to reach the waters in which atlanticism thrives - that is the seas of the northern pacific, northern atlantic, and the north sea - and that is the defining feature - how close to a one of those seas are you and are you horizontally parallel to anglo america and great britain?. Eastern europe is also not as geopolitically compact as northwestern or northeastern eurasia from eurasia, as multiple lands create a geopolitical barrier that fends off eurasia from western europe being (iberia, france, western germany, western italy
@KaeyK.17 күн бұрын
As a half korean half swedish/norwegian, I'm intrigued by this event. The world is truly split into two - eurasianism (russia) and it's allies belarus and china vs atlanticism (North america and Britain) and it's allies japan and western and north western europe. Korea - along with scandinavia, are the two places where eurasianism and atlanticism meet. In sweden and norway we are preparing for war with russia backed by britain - so is south korea backed by America. I laugh at those who still think europe is seperated geopolitically from the rest of the world - it's clearly not and never will since the mongol empire - and the expansion of russia and anglo america

Formation fighting became obsolete to the point that any such fighting after the Napoleonic wars, such as in the US civil war, became an anomaly. Machine guns, tanks, and ever more accurate artillery alongside airpower continues the process. The first effective use of drones was during WW2. War has never been pretty. Bless the Ukrainian warriors defending their home against such overwhelming odds and with absolute devastating results. Your undeniable courage and will, along with international support will ensure victory! It's becoming fairly obvious an invasion of Russia will be imminent once they have all but depleted their manpower and military resources. Just incredible the sacrifice a leader will make for the minimal advances they've gained. 1 million+ casualties in 3 years just in Ukraine is unimaginable. A war with Nato would be over in days if not hours according to these results. Kinda why western nations don't take Putin's hallow threats very seriously. Russia you are getting your asses kicked in when will you turn around like you just did in Syria? What's the point to sacrifice that many of your countrymen? If true, this situation highlights the grim realities of modern warfare, where advanced technology like drones plays a decisive role. It's a stark reminder of the human cost of war, regardless of which side soldiers are on. De-escalation and peace should always be the ultimate goal to prevent such suffering.

Russia and North Korea have this total disconnect between their military customs, institution and tactics with current military hardware capabilities. Russians and North Koreans have annual spectacle of huge military parade, where their soldiers march in a proud posture with colorful uniform, clean and shiny new weapons, the most advanced tanks in the world, and also huge missile carrier. Then, the war happened, and once proud soldiers marching in Pyong-Yang just obliterated from a cheap drone like they're nothing. Their guns are ineffective against fast moving drone. Thousands of "the world largest tank forces" are already destroyed by mines, artillery, and in most cases, by the same cheap drones. Their huge missile carriers cannot be used with nuclear weapons for it will bring WW3. Even using conventional warhead, the accuracy of that missile is horrible. They are still using human-wave tactics in the world where defending is easier. They're still advancing tho.... but with huge loss of manpower and equipment. I cannot even imagine to be North Korean soldiers like in this video. You were told that you had the best equipment, best training, best commander but just as you arrived on the frontline, you were dead. Just like that.

I am both disgusted by these images and clips and in awe that the majority of people commenting being able to recognize these men's deaths are ultimately needless and senseless-- North Koreans, although being sent as combatants and utterly opposed to the US and other facets of the modern world at birth, were casualties signed off the moment they got their orders to march; they can't come back home because they've seen too much of the real world outside of their careful maintained informational bubble and would threaten the NK Elite's status quo by being able to explain what they've seen to their families and countrymen. They were always intended as fodder, willfully and purposefully sacrificed, because the old, prideful, and greedy that put themselves in charge can only serve to gain directly at other's expense.

Sad they think going to fight for their country is a special privilege unfortunately if they really understood how bad the conditions they are heading towards actually were they would try doing anything to run away during the trip from their country to the front lines they eventually go to. Sadly it’s the end of the road being alive for most of them over the next week or two at most. Plus a select few who make it back to their country won’t be able to tell the truth about what they actually saw without getting sent to labor jails in North Korea. People can’t figure out the truth about the war crimes they witnessed on a daily basis.

They're likely not told anything about anything other than that they are going to war I'm sure. They'll die in Ukraine or die in Korea for disobeying orders. But either way they are dying for a lost cause and without any purpose for them at all. They are dying for nothing more than a business relationship of their leader that won't benefit the people one bit.

Bro, you don't leave North Korea unless you escape. Even in Russia they are killed if they refuse to fight once deployed. It's why Kim is trading them for resources. The only one allowed to leave the front lines are Chinese mercenaries because China wants them back for their combat experience.
