12:10 The little "boop!" he does right there is such a fucked callback to that selfie and I love it. Most slasher villains that are "having fun with their work" tend to not come off nearly as intimidating as Art and the power of David Thornton's smile. At least, not in the same shit your pants way. Realism? It's literally the only realistic part of Art, since he can teleport, hack people up in seconds, can revive himself after dying and has honestly some of the dumbest victims in horror history. This isn't to say Art is a terrible horror villain, but he definitely is an inconsistent one and comes off as the Michael Myers of Clown slashers, where if you find an inconsistent yet motiveless slasher scary, this is for you.

@@michaelfireheart8300 really? I get that fear is subjective and all that crap but even if you don’t find him scary you have to admit that the design of art is clearly very good. It’s the sole reason the creator managed to raise funds for thee movies. He’s scarier then the latest pennywise which isn’t difficult to be fair.. If you don’t find clowns scary in general then fair enough but the concept of art is still awesome. Doubt you could find a scarier clown image online and there’s no shortage lol

@@schnozz5662 never denied he's well designed, but he isn't an interesting killer and honestly, could've been more consistent as a killer than being written essentially like a incoherent killer drunk. Pennywise honestly is scarier, because she's able to change her form to fit your fears and actually has a consistent personality compared to Art who really just goes through the motions.
@schnozz5662
@schnozz5662 3 жыл бұрын
@@michaelfireheart8300 Very true.. however if your referring to the book pennywise then yes it is much scarier. If your comparing the 90s TV movie I would say they are on par at least in regards to the scares (and I love the 90s movie).. but I’m sorry the latest movies are stupid and fail to capture any of the dread from the book or original. Also what you said could apply to any slasher with exception of maybe Freddy Krueger but I still see your point. Hopefully the director/creator of art now will have a chance to insert some motivations and deeper lore around art the clown in the future if he goes back to him again.

I'm so glad that Decker actually enjoyed this movie, every reviewer that I follow takes so quick to shit on this movie and overlooks the fact that this is mostly a special effects project for Damien, alongside setting grounds for Art and finally a homage to 80s horror flicks. Well, the greenscreen is a learning process for me - the difficulty of getting all the glitches out is gonna be fun. My main reason was actually to try to improve the audio quality though, as using the greenscreen has allowed me to move the filming into my bedroom. Smaller room, more furniture, less echo. We're also looking at turning another room in the main house into more of a studio for me, which could also help a lot. Having the greenscreen would make the transition from this bedroom to the pseudo studio a lot more seamless. Really, it's just been a big help in being able to record in less echoey environments and I've been having fun with what I can do with the backgrounds as a kind of bonus on the side.

my main issue with alot of horror movies is that none of the characters have charisma or intelligence, which makes you not care if the villain kills that character because the director knew the character was gonna die off so the director doesnt invest in the character development. secondly the only thing we learn about art the clown is that he grew up without a mother, which is basically like the director putting in that little part just to say he included a backstory.

All of those film characters: Leatherface, Buffalo Bill and here Art the clown, can trace the fetish of wearing "leather goods" made of their victims skin back to one man. Ed Gein of Plainfield, WI, in addition to being a serial killer, was a serial grave robber. Plainfield, in the 1950's was the type of small town where everyone knew everyone else's business. Each time Ed heard a neighbor lady had died, he would wait until after sunset the day she was buried and pull the corpse out of the grave. When he got it home, he would cut the skin below the bellybutton to the knees off and make a kind of skirt. He cut around the shoulders and neck down to the waist, saving the breasts on a type of "tank top." Ed would wait until nightfall to don his grisly apparel, dancing in his backyard in the moonlight!

Did you dare say KZbin does not understand censorship? Don't you know they got a freedom of speech award.... given to them by themselves....

Wasn't expecting a return from the dolls. Makes sense that it was in with this film though.

Art The Clown definitely is creepy. For a cheap movie it's not bad at all.

24:46 This movie is so much overkill it destroys most of it plausibility. The massive amounts of gore are not realistic but more pornographic. Shock tactics don't equal suspension of disbelief

Came here to say the pizza parlor they used in this movie is a 10 minute drive from my house. So, of course I had to visit the day after I saw the movie. They filmed while the place was being renovated. The seating area is completely different. But, still, it is awesome to occasionally visit. The pizza is great, too. Well, it is Long Island. Kind of hard to find a bad pizzeria, here.
