4k60fps is delivered via VP9 codec for which you need one of the few CPUs which support that acceleration on hardware and driver side. So this new feature is completely useless at this time, and even worse, it makes 4k video unusable on machines that were easily able to run 4k30fps.

Amazing footage. Few tips tho: for a shot that's just grey on grey increase your contrast a bit for more dynamic range. Also some of those shots were so amazing but we're far too short. I could watch that hypnotic cloud of death flow down a mountainside for minutes. This video need a long cut. An hour would be acceptable.

@Time Bomb Records No, what you're seeing is basically an avalanche of rock and ash, it's flowing down the volcano. From what I can see, the top of the volcano has a lot of hardened lava, when a piece of that lava collapses, the debris starts rolling down the volcano, leaving a lot of ash and dust behind. They're not really eruptions.

4K - so why am I not seeing the option to view in 4K like I used to be able to? The max quality available is 1080 60p.

I’ve worked my problem out. Apparently, Safari does not support the new KZbin settings (something to do with V9) and so if you wish to view in 4K, then you will need to use Chrome. I tested it out and indeed that seems to be the case. Some older 4K videos are supposedly still viewable in 4K on Safari. It’s a pity that Google/ KZbin does not make this clearer and Apple also could communicate better. Google has achieved the lofty heights that it has because it was good. The operative word being ‘was’. Seems to me that if they don’t rid themselves of their arrogance soon, they will find that users will have lost faith in them and when the next viable alternative appears on the scene, they will suddenly see an exodus. It’s not only a lack of communication on a relatively minor issue such as 4K, but the way they treat their KZbinrs and are playing the tax evasion game (albeit legally) etc. Things add up and they need to remember that it is not only elephants that have good memories. Same applies to Apple and all other companies out there regardless of industry - including my own modest enterprise.
