Thank you for making this video! I really loved it! I lived in Claymont DE for quite some time as a kid, its amazing to see how its changed! I am shocked to see city steel and tristate mall gone! I am just glad that Claymont steak shop is still there! My dad used to take me there often as a kid, lots of good memories! Again thanks for the video and a trip down memory lane! I think this is what you have in mind, Terri Jo, with your showing around cities and si tes. How they develop and change in time. You yourself knew this to have a totally different look from years ago. Now you're showing us how it has been changed and later on it will be different again, once the projects have been completed. I guess it's a good thing that old industrial sites can be transformed to meet the needs of the people in the area there, for instance, regarding new homes and facilities. But it's also a good thing that a few businesses still proudly stand and have survived as the witnesses of gone-by times. Thank you for sharing! 🤗👍

At 4:41 I commented “and of course the liquor store is still open for business.” Well, that’s still true but they moved! The new location is towards the lower left of the parking lot, closer to Naamans Road.

Claymont is a great location. It’s 2.5 hours south of NYC, 45 minutes south of Philadelphia, and 15 minutes north of Wilmington, Delaware. Also, 1.5 hours north of the Delaware beaches (Lewes & Rehoboth Beach) and 2.5 hours from the New Jersey beaches (with the exception of Atlantic City which is 1.5 hours away). The mountains (Poconos) is 2.5 hours away. I think you’ll be happy with your decision if you relocate to Claymont. Good luck! 🍀

I'm so old I remember the disgusting underpass at the train station. A walk through, rat infested urinal tunnel to get to the northbound side.

Oh wow, that sounds awful! 🤢 I lived in Chichester until 1993 but I’ve never been to the Claymont train station. The Marcus Hook line went to Wilmington but I never rode the train to Delaware. 🛤️
