I remember going to England in like 1969 or so, I never got to see the real London Bridge BUT ! I did buy this plastic cube that had a piece of London Bridge, that was being sold at the time to help pay to move the London Bridge to it's new home. Somehow I still have that little cube. Who knows if it's a real piece of the London Bridge or just a bit of stone gimic to raise money but it's a nice remembrance of a fun trip.

There are actually quite a few popular names in this movie. The girl who plays Angie is Stepfanie Kramer from the tv series Hunter. And Rose Marie who played Sally on the Dick Van Dyke show plays Alma Bellock. Randolph Mantooth from the 70s tv series Emergency is Joe Nez. There are a number of other popular actors too. As I watched the movie, I kept asking myself is that so and so…. The ending where he says it's okay, can't be accurate. In the beginning of the movie, Jack The Ripper was shot many more times than he was at the end of the movie. Also if I'm Jack the Ripper and I realize that I am in a completely different time, wouldn't you want to explore what the future looks like before wanting to run back into the past? If what we have here is a case of time travel and assuming that Jack the Ripper did not die as he plunged into the water you basically kept him in your own time. It would be better to send him back to his own time if you're unable to kill him than it would be to leave him in current times.

There also are at least three character actors in supporting roles in this movie who are recognizable from having worked a lot.
@camcordernonsense5264 Жыл бұрын
that's part of the fun of the watch for me. I always enjoyed those actors and supporting actors from back then. I got more out of their performances than a lot of modern ones. always hate hearing we lose an actor but the 60s, 70s and 80s television and film actors deaths are more loss for me.

What a treat. never saw til tonight. Plays out like T.V. movie, but does plays out Fantastic. David Hasselhoff was one screen presence here. Did great as a detective. I can see why he became the star of Knight Rider and Baywatch. Lot a great cameos. Clu Gulager from Return of The living Dead. Adrienne Barbeau from a load of horror flicks. Stephanie Kramer from Hunter fame. Even Rose Marie from The Dick Van Dyke show. The flick kinda felt like a Night Gallery segment or Night Stalker episode. can't get over intense actots like Hasselhoff, Shatner. Where have they all gone. Least we still have Cage.

I don't know if David can act. But he photographs well and can emote in front of a camera, so I guess that's what counts. Interestingly, I saw him shooting an episode of "Knight Rider" during the same period this was made back in the mid-'80s, and all I can say is, judging from the crowd of onlookers, he was quite popular with the ladies back then. This made-for-TV movie has a neat premise, but is weak on the execution. That said, the great Lalo Schifrin scores the hell out of it. It's really quite exceptional music, especially for a low-budget entry like this. For those interested, a much better time-traveling "Jack-the-Ripper" film is the 1979 theatrical release, "Time after Time." A minor sci-fi/thriller classic, and one of my favorite movies of the genre.
@BolinFoto2 жыл бұрын
He's a Jack of all trades. He can sing, dance, act and a whole lot of other artistic things. The thing is though that a Jack of all Trades isn't really a master of any trade. But I have always like the slight campy acting of David, and Knight Rider that was the show every kid sat glued in front of :P

I read the reviews on IMDB, and after watching it for the first 30 mins I couldn't help thinking about the story, it almost feels like a script for a crossover of Knight Rider and CHiPs but with touches of Columbo and Magnum, so I can see why the IMDB reviewers compared it to Murder She Wrote. Also I can't work out why K.I.T.T. and Michael never visited London, as that would have been interesting, I personally have been over London Bridge and Tower Bridge, both on foot and on my mobility scooter and I didn't have many expectations going in, but having seen it now, I am pleasantly surprised that I got anything out of it. Worth a watch.
