The Cybertruck "explosion" was contained by the strength of its structure, and the fact that the battery did not explode or catch fire. He might not have intended to hurt anyone, but probably expected a bigger spectacle. The media doesn't seem to understand how those things are made or operate. (But then, given Elon's politics, it's understandable not being overly curious about the Tesla operation.)
