@doomslayer8985 Жыл бұрын
GTA physics engine is HAVOK, a program like simstructure requires quite a lot of CPU usage for math calculations to be as realistic as possible, meanwhile GTA doesn't makes the same amount of calculations because cpu must do other things (logic, AI, rendering, etc) so to prevent all the workload beign heavily bottlenecked to the cpu the physics calculations may have be already pre calculated or just "nearly as accurate" physics, also take in mind PS4 and Xbox One consoles gen had a weaker cpu compared to Cell PS3 so from GTA IV to V the physics were downgraded thanks to that cpu generation being weaker.

If this man didn't have schizophrenia he legitimately could have been the greatest genius of our lifetime. I'm not even joking. People don't understand how insanely impressive coding a software like this alone in 1 year in the early 2000's is. There were full research teams trying to do this and failing and this guy did it in his spare time as a hobby while suffering from severe mental illness. I got no doubt that he was actually the smartest programmer who ever lived.

this is a program he single handedly written in 2000. in 2000 when i had my windows 95 computer and i was 4 and played Tunneler and Dyna Blaster with my friends, if we had this program it would legit blow out our minds. We are so sorry Terry. You were undoubtedly one of the smartest programmers that ever lived, and we pushed you aside and outcasted your talent....

Half? You're too generous lol. This guy wrote an OS , wrote a compiler, wrote a boot looser, created his own programming language. 99.9 % of the programmers could not do just one of these things
@snickerdoooodle Жыл бұрын
I'm a little confused. Even in my basic BS in comp sci, we were required to write a full compiler in a class literally called Compilers, where we made the individual parts of the compiler and brought them all together at the end of the class. You could not pass this class unless your compiler passed all test cases. Idk where these "99.9% of people in the industry can't write a compiler" stat is coming from tbh
