the specials changed my life, set me on my career path and I worked for them at a show a lifetime later. then I only heard about his horrific childhood experience , he was one in billion

Snap 🫰. Just started secondary school. Was already into ska , mod music and clothes. The Specials were indeed exactly that. Terry was brilliant in every band he formed

Terry Hall is a legend and put coventry on the world map. He was a music genius and displayed this in all his works. The bands he played in and founded were the best influences in my life. RIP Terry your one of the best, taken too soon.😢💯❤

I was 20 years old when I saw The Specials on SNL in 1980. It rocked my world the same as hearing Led Zeppelin in 1970 or Zoot Allures in 1976. All seismic musical experiences for me. I still listen to Terry and his group regularly. Thanks for almost 50 years of smiles.

Growing up in between Birmingham and Coventry in the 70-80s this music but more importantly the words and the sentiment spoke deep … only recently have i realised how they influenced by decisions and attitudes in life. So glad and grateful

I found an old shoebox at my Mom's. it was mine from the 90's with my cassette's from back then. Specials, Madness, Selector, Elvis Costello, Smiths, happy Mondays, Stone Roses etc.. Those were the days

the specials meant a lot to me when they came out.. and always been a part of my collection.. though a lot of the songs where remakes of old ska tracks they gave them a modern dirty home feel to them giving the songs a new lease of life and reaching a new audience. i was gutted when they split after a shot time.. then when they got back together and started gigging again was a blessing though sadly i could not afford to go and see them at the time when they was playing near us.. and then with his passing.. terry you touched many with your music and it was good to see you back though sadly you was taken from us before your time..
