Very sad :( Terry used to walk past us kids on his way for a drink in The Rocket in Coventry. He sometimes said something that made us laugh, and he always smiled. I was a little too young to be in awe of him, but old enough to appreciate who he was to my hometown. For that and his music he will live very long in my memory

So it’s 1979. I bought the first Specials album from my Grandmother’s high street in Barnet. I was 11 years old and it was the only long player I’d bought with my own (birthday) money. I played the shit out of it! The first band I truly loved. When BOWIE died I was sad. Now I’m really upset to the point of tears. I guess it’s a selfish reminder in some ways that I’m getting old. As one gets older heroes become less significant or important. After all they’re just people. For me, Terry Hall was a HERO and one of the few great front men with a unique voice and presence. And at times some of the best lyrics ever written. I want to play the music but can’t quite face it. I dunno. Maybe in a month or so. X

I had this song on a Brit Pop CD in the 90s and loved it. Now I've rediscovered it here by chance and have been listening to it up and down ever since. I really like the duet vocals in the chorus. The voices complement each other wonderfully. I'm not even sure if there was a female voice on the CD back then.
