Hamish the Antique Barbarian is my favorite and the way he’s depicted makes it better still. I laugh every time I hear that “wha-aa-aaaaat?!” 🤣😭😅

Must be the 4th or 5th time now and I still laugh. This has to be my favourite of all Rincewind books Thank you for sharing. Also, and I hardly dare say this, I can’t believe it’s still available

40'th or 50'th. Discworld and the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy series are in a world of their own and in difficult times (which recently are very intense) I listen to them again and again just to ease my mind. Go listen to all the Hitchhikers Guide series audiobooks but make sure they're the ones narrated by the author (Douglas Adams)

@@teejayaich4306 I have, years ago before I found Pratchett. But Discworld still wins for me in the humour and morality category. Probably just a question of personal taste. Each to their own 😎

The audiobook is absolutely wizzard. I've been taking a break from Star Wars; cool but, a shade intense for long stretches...

it can be a bit jarring to listen to an englishman reading some of these satirical asian characters. it is something i never noticed reading it in print. but terry pratchett was always an ally and always pure hearted. so i invite any first time listeners to put that aspect in context.

Hes not above criticism. He didn't get everything right and its okay to acknowledge that. I'm sure he would agree.

Did anyone think vetinari sounded like this or more charles dance?
@Annagramma-u7x2 ай бұрын
Charles Dance certainly looked and sounded like Lord Vetinari however Nigel was the first voice I heard being same so it’s Nigel for me.

I've always been partial to Stephen Briggs' Lord Veterinari. He manages to make 'dry' an actual tone 😂
@Annagramma-u7x2 ай бұрын
@@nobody8328 I agree that some of Briggs’ characterisations are very good. I am particularly impressed with his version of Lord Rust and Igor. And his Vimes is good too
