I bet Thompson & Morgan didn't bank on that tip onslaught from the master! But Terry you forgot one of your best sources of material, woodchips from the paths. Got that tip from him years ago and its been one of the best money savers for me ever - 3 year old woodchip sifted and blended with Leafmold make free seed compost, better than the commercial stuff.

Some great tips and advice. I can't believe the cabbage white caterpillars are still on the go! I thought they'd have either turned into butterflies or pegged out.

Great video terry- so interesting. Thank you. Your plots are sp efficiently run Terry. Totally amazes me! I build my compost heaps from discarded pallets at my local garden centre. Not free but available with a small donation to Air ambulance, which I am so happy to do. I need to source some IBC tanks as I currently use ex disinfectant barrels from the local farm. WE can't get free pallet collars- local firms charge for them sadly. Nothing much ever given away in the south of England. I use yoghurt pots to pot on seedlings to give to friends and neighbours on my site. I also have to buy mushroom crates as I haven't been able to find a free source locally. I use photo cases to store my seeds. I label them as you do- makes it so easy to find what I want. I used to use a tin, but it was annoying to have to sort through 50 packets to find what I need. Love and hugs to Sandra ❤happy gardening 🙂

Well explained Terry. Watching this it's like, yep got that, yep, yep lol. Seed swapping is great. I have two photo cases to play with. I've also got seeds everywhere, either in the shed or at home. I keep finding them laugh. If you have vats with 2014, who am I to argue with you as you have got so much stored. Your water preservation is impressive. I have three IBCs plus eight water vats connected to our greenhouses. Have you ever tested your soil? It would be really insightful to know how potent your soil actually is after all, you do improve your soil no end. It makes sense to explain to gardeners, why you use log ash or other fluids. It's how we learn. I agree, wood is expensive so making a saving here and there, helps the pennies and pounds to spend on Thompson and Morgan seeds, for instance. Oh my, those caterpillars are still not gone! Have they evolved by eating your crops? Laugh. One time use straps are pure madness, but not in your eyes lol. Terry 👍 👍, Mrs K ❤️🎄🎅

@terrykingsallotmentgardening10 күн бұрын
@Kathlee-l4z Hi Kathleen, a local sheep farmer advertised on social media, they only get 50p a fleece so they fill the bulk bags and sell them for £20, a noval way to cover the beds and hopefully attract birds to collect nesting materials. I will definitely get another bag next year.
