C6 is right, racism is rampant irrespective of class/ socio economic group. And regarding the Tesco advert, Vanessa Vanderpuye said there was talk on set about her natural hair. They didn’t even have the decency to provide her with a hair stylist. It probably didn’t “fit” their vision so they removed them. Our natural features and existence has always been disruptive for some reason and it’s sad. And Kane the blatant racism Jo Malone demonstrated. Why are you tap dancing ? They stole John boyega’s WHOLE concept/ story board / intellectual property and recasted him without notifying him just to suit china’s palette. 🥴 And Kane’s food looks amazing 😍😍

How are man expecting the Black family on a Sainsburys advert to be eating Caribbean food at Xmas or any time? Youve got to remember its an advert for Sainsburys & they dont sell the type of food most of us Black people eat at Xmas culturally. I havnt shopped in Sainsbury for a while but as far as i remember they dont even sell scotch bonnet, plantain, yam etc & Tesco have only just started selling scotch bonnet recently.

The advert is introducing a British Black family at this season. Cause we are all use to seeing white people or mixed cultures. The people that didn't like it is because it showed Black people in a different light to what they are use to. No gangs, no poverty, no drama.

Sainsbury's does sell Scotch Bonnet babes, as well as Bulla, Hardough Bread, Saltfish, Bun & couple other tings. Tesco sells Plantain and I tend to get it from there if I can't get it from the local grocers. Both of them are racist, but as West Indian & African people we've always bought our produce from East Indian people, which is a big fail on our part, so until we're the supplier/seller/buyer, we can't really talk.
