@DivineDefecation because everything they produce sells instantly. There is no point in growing the complexity and the costs when it all works perfectly now
@ramouflard
@ramouflard Жыл бұрын
@DivineDefecation Ok now imagine you produce orange juice and have extraordinary demand for it. You keep optimising your processes and machines to produce more and more but can't keep up with the demand. You even raise the prices substantially and have great margins now and demand keeps growing. In this scenario do you want to : 1) keep optimising your lines to satisfy demand while decreasing costs, hence being able to later reduce price and increase demand if it starts fading. Only when you've reached a nice equilibrium would you consider increasing complexity to enter new market segment and answer a new kind of demand. 2) Start selling apple juice, at much tighter margin, with new materials and processes and divert your ressources toward something obviously less profitable. What do you do ?

That mechanical engineer that led the robot demo was so good. Her calm, thoughtful, conversational delivery was excellent. Really impressive that Elon decided to let a long line of developers take the stage. Not a bunch of execs, but the actual front-line engineers. Super impressive, and let’s the engineers shine. So fun for that bunch of hyper-engineers to get to tell the world about their bonkers inventions.

At its heart, Tesla is a hardcore technology company. I was stunned at how Tesla grinds performance and efficiency at every level, with design for manufacturing in mind. Chips, busbars, memory, data transfer, compilers, thermal management, etc...Dojo addresses every process. For FSD, the transformation of neural net architecture over the past two years reveals Tesla's willingness to abandon inferior strategies rather than double down. It is still very early on the bot, but I have no doubt that Tesla's design philosophy, and its computer vision and physical simulation engines give it industry-leading advantages in that space.

They mentioned the the actuator only matches the strength of the corresponding human leg muscle, which is also able to generate 1000 lbf. It needs to be this strong to operate the lever arms in the leg. It will be quite ground breaking if they can get their electronic actuators to operate at the speeds needed for running, reliably, for many years... It's a difficult task, and I suspect there will be many iterations. Competing with Tesla at the hardware level will not be easy.

BD has the bot part down, it's the brain part that Tesla has an advantage in, and in that I mean the ability to make it so it can navigate it's environment. Personally I don't think the whole bipedal thing is as important. I'd have slapped a human torso on a 'spot' bot. There are few places something with 2 legs can go that something with 4 can't.

@@jubjub7406 I agree. The Tesla bot will not need to move the way the BD bot does nor does it need to. This bot is going to be crucial when we start seeing outcomes of population collapse, especially in japan and china. There will be simply shortage of workforce. If this is ready before then (15-30 years) this will become a bigger revenue source for tesla than the cars. Not even talking about how these things will be useful on mars...

Go back to 2018/19 and it was considered massively overvalued at 250-350 before the first split. It is 15x what it was back then. They are clearly now worth more then the amount that you would have bought it back in 2018/19, but you cannot get it for anywhere near that price. Stop trying to value what a stock is worth today. Try to see predict what you think it will be worth in a few years.

Not sure i agree with that “wise man”. Because Underestimating has many terrible effects: - increases Team mental stress & inefficiency - Over time Underestimating behavior increase - Over time promises & announcements become less credible to the public (lose trust) - Dangerous outcomes from force releasing product before its time, to meet your promise. - It Escalate lying to people and dev recruiting - Unethical abuse of dishonest advertising. - False interpretation on a new tech feasibility. Its always best to keep balancing it to medium. Thats what i really hope Elon himself and his teams to work on and adjust/maintain.
