@@tbear Maybe. If there's something better, I'm all for it. A lot of that is just wishful thinking of people resisting the change because they don't like the idea of EVs though. There's a lot of 'but what about the x?' type questions, all of which actually have satisfactory answers, and nearly all of those answers put EVs above ICE.

@@AmbientMike it really is quite different.. not defending it, i don't like them, i don't like electric at all to be honest, but that's cos' batteries are an utterly stupid solution to the energy/pollution problem that Elon Muskrat is trying to ram down out collective necks. You know BMW were developing a hydrogen unit 20 years ago and abandoned it cos' of the electric/hybrid craze. Hydrogen was a real solution. Beat out by popular myth that stinking dirty and horribly polluting lithium batteries were gonna save the world. But is the tesla different from most modern cars... damn right it is. Although it's just as big a pollutant as any modern internal combustion car... the GREEN idea is a myth.

in terms of sound though. People give the electric sound thing crap, but when is the last time anyone has heard a halfway decent commuter car? Riding in a Tesla literally sounds the same as if im in any other modern sedan. Yes you are right batteries are a large pollutant, im sure to a degree...near...as damaging as fossil fuels, Electric may not be the future, but innovation for alternative energy in a profitable and marketable way is opening the doorstep, whatever people want to think of it. @@markmark5269 Enjoy your Tesla, mate. I have a motorcycle that accelerates just as hard as that so I get it. It's a buzz. But I know from experience that a two stroke bike with half the power is still more "fun" than a four stroke superbike. Why? Because of the way it delivers that power and the technical difficulty in mastering it. Pushing your foot to the floor and steering while your Tesla does all the work would bore me out of my mind no matter how fast it was. It's just too easy. There's no challenge.

I love the noise of a V8, but I'll admit that most of us like the sound of engines because we associate it with performance. As EVs start to regularly outperform ICEs the association will fade, and will never be formed for the younger generation. The feeling the noise will create will be nostalgia, like a steam engine or piston aircraft, rather than the last word in speed and adrenaline.

I think this view is wrong. The more dominant electric cars become in every day life, the cooler ICE performance cars will seem, due to their rarity and inaccessibility. Eventually only wealthy people will have ICE vehicles, or folks in rural areas. Everyone will want one, but they will be a luxury good for most.

the killer for me is 75 minutes to fully charge compared to 2 minutes to fill a petrol tank. try doing the le mans 24 hr in a tesla :) about 12 of those hours would be spent charging the car and you would be lucky to complete half of the race.

You wonder why? Your're suggesting it cannot corner or brake? It loses out a little on warm brakes an even beats the BMW on cold brakes. It thrashes the BMW on the handling course as well.

I can show you some situations where horses or a bikes still have an advantage over a car. So what? BTW, even that advantage will be disappearing fast becausing battery capacity and charging times are developing really fast.

Love that Volvo. My first car was the same model but a two door coupe, the 122s. I could roll it backwards down a hill, pop the clutch and leave a thick streak of rubber fifty YARDS long. It was a comfortable car, but hardly a powerhouse. The roadrunners, firebirds, Camaros, and chargers, would come around... they'd be scratching their heads, what did that? I have not revealed my buffoonery till now.

Gravy Davy dude what do you think that bikes stop working in the rain ? Why do they sell water proof jackets and gear for then? Been riding in all weather conditions in the last year since I sold my car and kept those cages for your ipad loving people.

@@YA-ee9zf Riding in bad weather is no fun. I did nearly 10 years on bikes before I went back to a car for winter. It doesn't matter how good the gear is, any bike on ice or snow is terrifying.

@@gravydavy4188up to 80 percent loss of traction in winter rain, not ice, in UK. So if you have the choice take the car, I don't have, only aford 1 vehicle an it has to be a bike IMHO.

Only 2 heros, Guy is one of them. I ride tune and build motorbikes and cars. Often on Gixer 1000 round TT course. Ive engineered in the Auto Industry world wide 35 years but Ive run a Tesla P85 Model S for 90K uk miles over 6 years as well as ride bikes including an electric bike the Zero SRF, I think I can judge machines that accelerate. There is no way Im comparing my self to Mr Martins abilities on a bike, try getting round the TT quick on a sports bike and you get some slight insight into a TT racers ability and as far as his spanner work is concerned there is no question but my surprising conclusion is the P model rear wheel drive Teslas are the bad ass electrics of the road. Still turning in 4.0 0-60 they are a riot to drive, have been built by engineers who knew full well they would be a handful and yes I know you think there is no noise but drop the back seats down and floor it and hear the sound of near 500BHP of electricity and Im not kidding it makes a noise. Maybe its because my other hero is Elon Musk, both are bloody good engineers and I like the way they engineer in life so for me despite the obvious conclusions that the Tesla is boring as an engineer its far from it, I love engineering it ticks my boxes, still love the classic petrol powered bikes i run as well but it is feeling like they are museum pieces now, engineering does not stay still.

Me... lifetime of V8's ownership. Now my current V8 car sits with a battery charger on it because it's rarely driven. It all started with a Nissan Leaf (which is more fun than you probably think) and ended up with a Tesla. Try an EV before you condemn them.

I totally agree. I've had some quick cars in the past but I enjoy driving my Leaf a lot. I've test-driven a P100D and a Model 3 and am planning on upgrading the Leaf to a Model 3 soon. Electric cars are just better - and going to get even better.

After experience the service Tesla provides, i say no thx. I got two friends that got rid og their Teslas and bought muclecars inatead, because of the bad service and cars that was more on the workshop than on the road. And my own bad experience, but i dont have that on video for KZbin so thats a fake experience, so i have been told by fanboys.

@@christianfalch3182 I wish I could say you were wrong about Tesla Service, but yeah, my experience with them has not been good (in Melbourne Australia). They make out like they are all up market and too good to speak to their customers, like they are running a nuclear missile facility. I had some bad attempted repairs by them, that I had to fix myself later. Luckily I have worked in automotive development and electronics all my life. I feel for people who have to deal with them who don't have any experience. I had to bitch and moan, and provide video evidence of every fault before they would help.
