Although, its not idea to go all-in on one stock. It's much easier for someone with less time, like myself, to keep up with one company. To avoid things from just happening. You should fully understand it's products, agree with management's vision, and be willing to wait years. However, for most investors It would be wise to go with an apple or microsoft for less votatility or stick with a VOO ETF.

I recently finished a 5k mile road trip and had probably 30-40 interventions but was blown away. Maybe half of the interventions was due to the car trying to change lanes when everything was going fine in my chosen lane. The most embarrassing issue was that it often could not navigate to the supercharger...i had to disengage and get to the correct spot and then park. My expectation is that by the time it's go time, it should be able to park at the highest speed open space and park. (Some sc locations had 150 and 250 units)

We have FSD 12.3.6. It’s really good. It only is a bit annoying. But, I have had to intervene a few times in the past month when it did something potentially dangerous. But, the most part it’s a little quirky. And the wipers always turn on auto each time FSD is activated. The wipers are still full self driving me crazy 😖 Lotsa love to all from Toronto ❤❤❤

Okay, hold on; one year of driving between interventions is HUGE progresss, but it does not constitute victory yet. For FSD to reach the point where it can power robo-taxis without a steering wheel, it will have to get to one lifetime of driving between safety interventions, if not two or three lifetimes. We cannot have a million cars on the roads that might likely cause an accident within a year. And we don't know how easy or difficult will be to get from one intervention a year to one per lifetime.

Reasonable criticism on the number of safety critical interventions is needed. 1 safety intervention is equivalent to saying one accident per year, which isn’t acceptable, from my point of view. They will get to 1 safety intervention per 1000 years, which is statistically acceptable, in a relatively short time.

@theodorehaskins3756 3 ай бұрын
@@richb2229 So do you use drugs? That is the most ridiculous statement I’ve ever heard. Have you looked at the statistics of the number of fatalities on roads and highways in the US lately? It is an outrageous number, that we over all these many years have not been able to solve this crisis, that has plague us for well over a century, and now you wanna throw cold water on the only company that is prepared to do anything about it. So what will you say when Tesla finally announces that drivers of a Tesla vehicle with FSD, will no longer have to keep their hands on the steering wheel or pay attention to the road? When Elon or someone else at Tesla announces that future Tesla cars will no longer come with steering wheels or pedals, because they are not needed, and neither will they have mirrors, because they are not needed, and that you can have completely opaque windows, because again human drivers are not needed, as the cars are fully automated/robotic, and that they can think not just like a human, and make decisions not just like a human, but they can do it better, because not only can they remember every single thing about every possible danger/scenario/imperfection in a highway system, but unlike we humans, they can anticipate any and all potential dangers of a collision with either another moving object like an automobile or a stationary object like a light pole or an electrical line pole, etc., something that we humans simply cannot do. So think about this, God gave us 2 eyes, 2 ears, and one mouth for a reason, and they function very well when we use them to do what we need to do, but he also gave us something else, it’s called imagination. So Tesla has imagined a future where their cars will no longer be driven by humans, the cars will be fully capable of driving themselves in all conditions and under all circumstances, no matter what, and should anything happen that can be directly attributable to the car itself, meaning that there was a defective system or component that failed, that caused the vehicle to either veer out of control or end up in a collision with another object, that the company will take total responsibility without equivocation, what will you say then?

One intervention per year could reveal many more edge cases. For example, given 365 vehicles, we could see one intervention per day. With 365,000 vehicles, 1000 interventions per day. But this is solvable. With 1000 interventions/edge cases, the software should self correct these edge cases on a daily basis. Soon there will be zero interventions per year. This is the power of the fleet size Tesla has gathering data, that nobody else has.

I really want to see 12.4. There is an interesting behaviour that FSD exhibits that isn't clear if it is a bug or a feature. Here's what happens: in FSD 12.3.6, when you arrive at your destination, don't hit park or disengage FSD, just hit "End Trip" on the Navigation system. Wait a few seconds and FSD starts driving all by itself with NO destination in mind. It just drives. It also ignores my attempts to get it to turn down a street by turning on the turn signal - FSD just turns it off. I let it go for several miles before setting the destination back to home. Weird.

While I’m a fan of Tesla and extremely excited about the prospect of Cybercabs, I’m not ready to ride in one that could still require an “intervention” when I wouldn’t have any control over the vehicle. Imagine a situation that would require a split second response to keep from killing a pedestrian or avoiding a collision. Will human remote operators be required for each and every Cybercab? All you have to do is witness the catastrophic collapse of GM’s Cruise service to understand the impact that even one accident that injured someone by a Cybercab would have on its viability. I will tamper my enthusiasm for the moment for a Cybercab full release, but I’m encouraged by Tesla’s FSD progress.

A lot of people claim FSD is not something they care about, and maybe those people don't drive in rush hour traffic or much at all. But for the millions and millions that do have to drive a lot and in rush hour traffic and the like, the cost of FSD on a monthly basis will be under $4 a day. Then, if it is proven safer than human driving, which is the goal, insurance rates will get better, then with the cost of maintenance and fuel savings, and with the lower prices continuing for EVs, it is crazy to see what the future looks like, and we are getting to the very edge of it so fast. This is just incredible stuff. Even if the worst case scenario is - and this is not what they are saying at all - but if worst case scenario is that FSD is 99.9% FSD, but requires you to sit in the driver's seat JUST IN CASE but not have to pay attention, but it lets you know on those extremely rare occasions it needs you to take over for a moment because it isn't 100% sure, if that is the worst case, that is absolutely amazing and worth it right there. Again, I know that is not the goal, but even if it was, it would be incredible!

It won't be long that you will want a car to drive you.. My dad can't drive anymore he was 81 when he decided not to take the licence test and give up driving ..😢 I wish we had approved self driving so he could get out and about again ...🙂 I'm praying it will be working and accepted everywhere before I'm not able to drive . I've got about 20 years left . But I already don't like driving at night .. 😅 Edit. I do have to say that I really enjoy taking a Uber and letting someone else deal with the traffic and idiots out there that shouldn't be driving . Just relaxing in the back .. texting or checking my Tesla stock price 😂😂

Robotaxis need to learn to read and interpret road signs and drive accordingly. For example, near my house there is a stop sign for the left lane, whereas the right lane has a free right turn without stopping. My MY always stops in the right lane even though there is a sign that specifically says right lane doesn’t need to stop. That’s one example. I bought FSD to drive for me when I’m too old to drive myself. 😂 Hope it gets there soon. 😮

"Exponentially Better"? More like "Asymptotically Better". It MAY continue to "get better", but it will never achieve perfection. In other words, "Close, but No Cigar!". All well and good. Granted, FSD does appear to work "most of the time". But the talk is of "interventions", when the DRIVER takes control and corrects whatever is needed. So let us fast forward to the cars with no pedals nor steering wheel. Up comes the need for an "intervention". Pray tell me how that works? This question and my experience with FSD and the cars' attempt to kill me or other people is one of the reasons FSD is not for me.

The proof of the pudding… Internally he claims? So: No humans needed to drive cars out of the factory. No humans needed to drive cars onto/from a transporter-truck. No humans needed to drive cars into/from those bulky cargo ships. If he still needs humans on non-public roads to avoid scratches, why should we entrust our lives? And does he still needs humans to drive his batteries in his Semi? If so, why??

Till then, paid off at 41K, fueling once a month at 3 minutes for a range of 570 miles of range which supersedes any EV in America, I'll keep my jaguar XJl and leave well enough alone.....

Yes, you are getting overly optimistic. I you can imagine the thinking of both regulators and perhaps as importantly insurance company risk assessors, you may be able to see just how anal their perspective needs to be. It would perhaps be helpful to clearly define the distinction between takeovers based on "I felt uncomfortable with the choice FSD seemed to be making" vs. "My life and/or my vehicle would almost certainly have been in a serious acident had I not intervened." It is only the latter that will be important to these two professions that will matter and allow a RoboTaxi market to flourish.

But I feel like because it’s Elon Musk and that he does have a track record of getting things done, I feel like he knew FSD would work (which it will sooner now compared to before) which is why he decided to call it FSD. I had the free fsd in April and there are many so called edge cases I encountered that are normal cases for where I live in Canada. 1. Potholes. The car would drive right into them at full speed unless I intervened. 2. Ice on the road. Drives on it and into it at full speed as if road conditions are ideal 3. Multi-lane roads (busy streets) not painted. The car would drive across two lanes and do unpredictable things getting me honked at and lots of dirty looks from other drivers 4. Change lane during a turn . It was making a left turn. Started out in the outside lane and by the time it was done, it was in the inside lane. That's an illegal turn and luckily the inside lane was clear, otherwise, car accident 5. That auto speed feature does not respect the speed limit. I turned it in and before I knew what was going it, it was 20 above the speed limit. 6. I expect all of the above becomes a big issue in winter where I live because the roads are covered in snow. No clearly defined lanes (it doesn't know where to stop sometimes), winter storms cover the cameras, road conditions aren't ideal and it likes to speed
