I'm a country girl from southeast Texas, and I grew up on this. My daddy loved Tesla and this band reminds me of him the most. It just has that southern rock sound that sits perfectly with me. My daddy passed down some of the greatest music ever written, to me and my little brother and we miss him terribly. But any time we hear Tesla, we remember him.

I saw Tesla and Great White in 1989 in Ft Smith, Ark when i was 14 yrs old. Before the show, some dude came out and said Jack Russell has a sore throat and GW will not be playing....but Tesla will play a longer better set. People were booing. GW riding on fame of Twice Shy....they were headliners. I s**t you not....Tesla rocked so damn hard by end of show everyone was going insane and they did 3 encores. Hands down one of the best rock n roll bands to ever walk the earth.

Saw them with Iron Maiden in California in 1987 hadn't heard the album but we moshed then Maiden came out it was one of the most amazing shows I've seen by far I've pretty much seen all the heavy metal bands except White Zombie grrrr or Rage Against the Machine or Gwar what favorite band of yours did you not ever get to see live?
@BonnChnd5 жыл бұрын
Had a very similar experience in Denver, late 80s. Tesla opened up for Bon Jovi. I knew from the first minute they were gonna rock harder and better than Bon Jovi ever could. My God they stole that show, to my great delight.

I saw Tesla in 1988 at Big Mac in Denver. I was very pregnant. Bon Jovi was the headliner and I’m not a huge BJ fan but wanted to squeeze in one more concert before the baby came. Tesla came on and rocked the house so hard there was no way Bon Jovi could top it, and of course he didn’t despite the stupid flying over the crowd stunt that for some reason others have done since. Tesla one of the most underrated rock bands of their era.

Tough little band. These guys had it going on. The key is this is hard rock not heavy metal and there was no home but metal in the eighties. It's all about marketing and placement. Those so-called grunge guys had the same energy level as this and we're the same age. Beyond beyond the fact these guys are great band the production on this is in your face. The great radio controversy. Very influential. If this came out in 1977 they'd still be playing huge arenas. These guys essentially very 70s.

In the midst of hairspray BS and awfulness, along came the guys who seemed to come outta Colorado or Bakersfield. No spandex, no weird shaped, fluorescent guitars, just great hard rock, with elements of folk and country mixed into the background.
