I have a 2024 model three performance and on the Bradington drag strip I absolutely hit 2.7 seconds 0 to 60. Track mode lowers the amount of peak power you can get if you hook it Tessie app, you can see this. You need to leave it in insane and either use one of the Sexy buttons to turn on the preconditioning of the battery or just put your directions to a supercharger and it’ll heat up the battery with a fully warm battery and cool motors. It’ll absolutely do 2.6 to 2.7 seconds 0 to 60 anything above a 90% state of charge. Three seconds is laughably slow. You can still pull under three seconds like high 2.8 2.9. All the way up into about 55% state of charge peak power can measure 624 at the motor above 75% SOC.

I prefer the Tesla Model 3 Performance. It is lighter, better performing, and more efficient than the others here. The Ioniq 5N is really a strong contender, being fun to drive, but still practical. But for as long as the federal subsidies last, the Tesla can be bought for nearly $20,000 less! The Mach-E (I won't call it a Mustang) is a solid effort, but in this over-achiever group it is clearly in 3rd place. I have 2 buddies both with different EVs, one being a Leaf and the other a MachE and they both have bitched about charging and have never left the city limits with their cars due to unreliable charging network. However I have NEVER worried about where I was going to charge or how I was going to charge my car bc I can go anywhere without fear of being stranded. Tesla supercharging network is ultimately what makes Tesla vehicles superior. My pick is new Tesla M3P. It’s the sports sedan bang for the buck. The 800lbs weight difference is huge between 5N & M3P. That’s a fundamental flaw harder to fix. Also, 5N is not a sports sedan. More like a crossover and its true competitor is MYP. With all the money you save over a 5N, buy a set of track day tires Cup 2R plus. And performance brake fluid,a big brake kit with still few thousand to spare for a future tune or further suspension upgrades, or just invest it. I do like the aggressive design to distinguish 5N from lesser Ioniq versions. I think Tesla M3P looks better than 5N. But can use a bit more aggressive Motorsport flair than the subtle differences between performance vs non-performance versions.

Even the greater range doesn't really matter to most folks as the average drive is 42 miles a day so.. If I had to drive more than 200 miles a day, I would not buy an EV like these. The Tesla has some advantages, but people generally pay more for performance models for the fun of driving, and in that regard I am sorry to say the Hyundai has the Tesla beat by a significant margin. Before watching - the poor mach-e brought a knife to a tank fight. As for the other two, I'd be shocked if the Ioniq5 doesn't nail a win here. The Tesla isn't bad overall, but that Ioniq5 is on a different level driving wise, and now everyone else is just playing catch up.

@ayushmalpeddi27937 күн бұрын
Model 3 Performance is the better car overall when factoring in price. BUT the Ioniq 5 is honestly infinitely more fun/ engaging to drive, and is nurburgring capable for 2 laps bone stock. Model 3 struggles to do even 1/4 lap mainly due to brakes and also will definitely overheat either the battery/motors (but US spec model 3 have a better powertrain so less likely to face overheating issues so soon). They seriously are two completely different animals. Id like to see a Ioniq 5N with the narrow body, normal wheels, but keep everything else the same so that it could be better daily for efficiency and range. Luckily the EV6 is gonna do just that next year!! Edit: spelling.

Go watch Hagerty's video where the M3P had the latest OTA software update which removed the false overheating warnings.
@ayushmalpeddi27937 күн бұрын
@KP-xi4bj even otherwise the brakes are not good enough when they were tested on the nurburgring. It wasn't just false warnings but literal smoke coming from the brakes. Maybe the updated the brake pads or something. Either way, Hagerty's circuit is MUCH slower paced so less heat on the brakes and wear on the powertrain. Also the US spec powertrain is better than the Euro spec. Either way the Model 3 isnt meant to be a track car whereas the Ioniq 5 N is. It has zero cooling problems and is still able 800v fast charge. Model 3 not so much

While Hyundai and Tesla march on making significant improvements, Ford is falling on its face and going backwards charging more for no significant improvement. That OTA “improvement” in performance by software in the Ford is literally fleecing the customer for feature that’s already there. A true ripoff IMO.
