Tesla Model Y & 3 - There Is NO WAY This Is This Cheap!! Stacking All The Incentives = Great Deals!!

The Tesla Model Y was last years best selling car in the entire world, and so far this year, it appears that it will retain that title, and for good reason. While off to a bumpy start, after getting EV Tax Credit qualification, the refresh Model 3 is also off on a great stride in 2024.
Prices have stabilized for the second half of 2024, and with very little price volatility, Tesla has been able to focus mostly on their various incentive packages instead. Historically Tesla had offered substantial discounts on inventory cars bringing the price down as much as 5k on Model Y and Model 3 and 10k on Model S and Model X.
Starting in April, Tesla moved away from their typical discount model and started focusing on incentives that brought people to the purchasing table. Instead of applying those thousands in savings on vehicles, Tesla has been buying down financing rates, helping to overcome a big hurdle with today's consumer, high interest rates.
On top of interest rate incentives for purchases, Tesla has also been applying more money towards leases for most of 2024, which has brought monthly payments for Model 3 and Model Y to historic lows. Those monthly payments have come up slightly on some models, but overall, they are in the lower range of what we have historically seen.
In addition to the interest rate incentives, Tesla has also rolled out FSD transfer once again. Although Tesla says this wont be offered often, it does seem to keep coming up in an effort to move inventory.
Tesla has also reintroduced the referral program (ts.la/justin35851) this month, which brings $1k off for new purchases and gives the referrer $500 towards anything at Tesla, including a new vehicle purchase, service, accessories, etc. In addition, we also saw the introduction of a Military appreciation program which offers $1k off the purchase of a new Tesla recently as well.
These 2 programs, adding up to $2k, plus the available $7,500 in tax credits, make for some really good deals in new Model Y and Model 3 purchases. Combine this with some of the offers to include free options when configuring with FSD on Model 3 Performance and Model X All Wheel Drive, the savings can really start to add up.
Until the release of refresh Model Y (project Juniper) sometime in 2025, I think we will see similar deals, but nothing majorly different for the rest of this year. That being just months away at this point makes it hard to know what to do, but if you do end up taking delivery of a new Tesla, you will be getting in at some of the best prices Tesla has offered historically.

So yesterday in China, Tesla extended their financing promo over there so it ends Oct 31 now. I'm pretty confident the same will happen for the US and the 1.99% financing promo will be extended.

They keep focusing only on the Model 3 and Model Y these deals or incentives need to be on all vehicles including the Model X and Model S.

Model 3/Y is their high volume models, so they want to get people to buy those. Model S/X are getting a bit dated and are more expensive, so less people are able or willing to buy them.

0 down means 0 down, taxes and fees goes into the loan. I have a friend who bought 0 down when it was 1% apr , and funny part wasn’t anywhere mentioned that you can do 0 down.

I'd love for you to test drive and review the updated vinfast vf8 with your thoughts. You can get them for zero down and $199 a month on lease! They got blasted in the reviews when they first came out, but the updated version has basically fixed everyone's problems they had with it and is now getting positive reviews. $200 for that vehicle is a pretty crazy value

Just crossed 90,000 miles on my 2020 Model Y with FSD. I’d love to take part of the pricing, but my 72 month loan is underwater with the lower prices. Happy for those coming into the market, but the price drops and depreciation haven’t been kind to existing owners. 😅

I can buy my Tesla Model Y I bought 2 years ago for $20,000 less today. And that's without the $7,500 tax credit elon screwed me and every Model Y owner. Name any other car manufacturer that screws their customers $20,000 in 2 years. the resale value of the Model Y is crap the owners who financed their Model Y are ALL "underwater" the resale value of their Model Y is less than the bank loan still due So what's to prevent the Model Y owner who buys today from the same fate? nothing... elon is held 20+ firesales because nobody wanted the car and eventually, he found a sucker///////buyer and then screwed him at some point the tax credits will go away and the stockholders of TSLA will demand that the obscene inventory levels of Tesla be reduced by closing a plant instead of dozens of more firesales to unload the bloated inventory

Interestingly, it appears that 1.99 on a myp needs 3,999 down. It’s also interesting that if you take off the gas savings estimate or add in the estimated taxes, that it goes back to 2.49. Not sure if that would really affect it, but it’s kind of odd.

Yeah, Tesla updated a few things like 1-2 weeks ago. You have to put 20% down for 1.99% and anything lower will show you 2.49% (their 2.49% w/ $0 down deal).

Please provide analysis (if you happen to be in the mood to): we have now received our Cybertruck, which is great!, for the family. Our old 2020 Model Y now becomes my personal vehicle (which basically means "no dogs allowed" anymore...). Which is worth about $21,500 as a trade-in, with about $17,000 (at 2.5% and an $868 monthly payment) still owed on the original note. (In a high sales-tax state, so a trade-in through Tesla would be tax-advantageous.) How about trading in for a refreshed Model 3 LR RWD for me at the 1.99%, taking advantage of a referral, and the tax incentives (Federal and State)...? Around $480 per month including $500 off in NY (exclusive of the down payment)? (Or $2000 off in NY if the MSRP ever drops below $42,000! So close!!) (The Cybertruck with the all-season tires will now easily handle any AWD-type driving situations such as significant snow, and of course any bulky hauling duties...)

If your Model Y is still running fine, I would just hang onto it. I'm taking a bath on my 2020 Model Y Performance in terms of its resale value too. But it still does everything I want in a car, and while the newer stuff would be nice, the range hasn't changed much, so barring an accident that totals it, I'm content waiting a few more years to get another one. And the Juniper refresh Model Y should have been out for a few years by that point, so hopefully they also worked out most of the kinks in that one by the time I get a new one.
