This is really cool. I just commented on your other video about getting a model s plaid. Really cool seeing you in my neck of the woods. I live in Wilmington and go down to Savannah occasionally. Really weird watching a KZbinr I’ve been following for a while visiting all the places I’ve been to. I’ve stopped at that summerton supercharger stop and it’s hella sketchy 😂. I actually live in Leland so the supercharger you used there is my home supercharger. It was put in fairly recently and inspired me to buy a tesla in the first place.

Oh wow! Yeah I had a blast on that trip. Hadn’t really been around there previously, but really enjoyed it. In the one after that I head up to Charlotte and catch a Warriors vs Hornets game and one of those videos head to UNC as well. It ended up turning into a basketball trip 😀 Hope to get back there. I really want to explore Savannah as well as the NC coastal towns more.

@@bryanhauer yeah there’s a ton of cool places here. I’d definitely recommend (if you start from the south of NC by Wilmington) taking the coast up to the ferry to Ocracoke island. There’s a really cool campground 200 feet from the ocean. I’ve been there a handful of times and it never gets old. Super lax and chill. Then take the next ferry up the outer banks to hatteras lighthouse (which they moved away from the eroding beachfront), kittyhawk to see the wright brothers monument, Corolla to see the wild horses. Let me know if you’re in town again and I’ll let you launch my model s plaid 😏😂

We just returned from a road trip in our Model Y to Illinois, Iowa, and Arkansas to visit family. Now back in North Carolina. Hope you enjoyed your time here on the east coast. We can’t wait to head to the southwest for awhile this winter.

Oh nice 👍🏻 Sounds like a fun trip. Any quirks or issues along the way? I'll be heading back out West later this month myself.

I live in Charleston and had to drive from NC back to CHS. You have no idea how lucky you are to have avoided that Florence charger. It’s at a bucees and it took me around 30 minutes to get to the charger and 45 minutes for me to leave the dang parking lot. Super crowded

Well done Bryan your production has really gotten good! Hey I don’t know how many miles you’ve logged on your Y by now, but I imagine it’s a good amount…have you noticed battery degradation?
@bryanhauer Жыл бұрын
Thanks so much 🙏 I’ve got about 36k miles and have only seen about a 6% degradation.

Enjoy watching your videos. Couple of questions. Have you encountered any parks that don’t allow Tesla camping and or charging restrictions? Also what about cover outside the vehicle? Ez up kinda thing. What do you use?
@bryanhauer Жыл бұрын
Thanks Greg! No issues camping anywhere except RV Parks. They don't allow any type of car camping unfortunately. Regular campgrounds are fine and no issues hooking up to charge. I usually just select a tent site or small trailer site. For outside of the vehicle I generally don't use anything, but occasionally I setup a screened in tent if there are a lot of bugs. This is the one I got from Coleman and love it: Coleman Instant Screenhouse Tent: hgeni.us/VO9K Otherwise I usually just setup a camping chair, small table and my pop up tent bathroom/shower. All of these items are listed down in the description of each video. When I first arrive at a site I'll usually setup just my bathroom/shower tent. This is an inexpensive item that clearly shows the campsite is already taken (usually there's also a post you put your ticket on), but isn't the end of the world if someone stole it. I don't put my shower stuff in it yet, but you'd generally want to put something on the site so people driving by looking for a spot clearly know this one is taken if they don't look at the post first. You just don't want to leave any expensive items as they could get stolen. Often I'll arrive at my site early in the day, but want to then go out and explore or go for a hike so I'll check in at the campground first, then setup my shower/bathroom tent and secure it to the ground and maybe put a water jug or a few have rocks inside to secure it in the wind and then head out for the day. For booking campgrounds I usually use Campendium's app or website. It will have the direct link to each of the campgrounds. You can view nearby campgrounds and search based on filtered criteria based on all sorts of parameters. Hope that helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

How often if ever do you arrive at a supercharger that’s not working or is iced?

Superchargers… probably less than 1%. Iced… maybe 3 times ever seeing it and all 3 were in S Dakota. Neither are much of an issue.
