Keep in mind that a 6-seat layout might remove the option to fold flat and turn your Model Y into a nice camper vehicle, so that might be the biggest downside similar to the Model X

How does removing the 2nd row middle seat magically add legroom to the third row?
@heyJohnEe22 сағат бұрын
guys don’t sit cross legged, we spread. Spreading reduces the amount of forward knee room needed to sit comfortably. Spreading without touching knees with the person sitting next to you is great. Removing the middle seat from the 2nd and 3rd row allows everyone to spread and sit comfortably. I’m speaking nonsense :)
@thefilmpoets18 сағат бұрын
@@heyJohnEe yea you can maybe spread one leg thats on the inside, what about the other? Makes no sense.
@heyJohnEe17 сағат бұрын
@thefilmpoets they leave a decent gap and padding on the outside leg, check the model X 6 seater it’s the same idea

A new 7-seat Model Y Juniper is also in the works and already being tested in the US, but would you rather pick that over the more spacious 6-seater version?

We would like to see a 6 seater with a longer wheel base. Would like to see a “Model X” size Model Y. As we say in Texas, may be time to put the Model X out to pasture (discontinue - for a more streamlined mass produced larger Model Y).

if the front seats cant be moved foward, and 3rd row cant be moved back, what difference does it make if you put 3 or 2 seats in the middle row wrt legroom?
@heyJohnEeКүн бұрын
It does move forward and back but not enough to make a major difference for adults sitting in the back that are cramped up together. But having only 2 larger seats in the back 3rd row should accommodate that. Leg wise not sure if there will be more legroom
@thefilmpoets22 сағат бұрын
@@heyJohnEe The problem for adults is headroom, the swooping glass on the hatchback hits my head in the 3rd row and I'm 5'7". Dangerous too, feels like I would break my neck if there's an accident.

We had the 6-seater Model X. The captain seats while very comfortable CANNOT fold flat for extra carrying space and for camping mode. We won't get 6-seater if it is the same thing in the Y.

"Interior seat layout" - Like shuffling the chairs on the Titanic. Not sure when you say "removing the UNNECESSARY parts" like the turn signals. I think they ARE necessary as many people point out which has also stopped their purchase of this car. To me, what Musk pockets in very minor savings from stalks, is massively lost in fallen sales.
@christianolsen9781Күн бұрын
Enough with the stalks.. once you learn it is an upgrade.

Everyone has preferences, I originally hated the idea but as I've gotten use to it and I feel the old stalks are unnecessary especially when FSD unsupervised is imminent. Also maybe its because where I live we don't have many roundabouts or even required to signal in and out of it, but i do feel for European owners

@@heyJohnEeI don't see how 1-2 out of 100 things breaking is worse than if 1 out of 1 does... Sure, probability is lower, but once it happens.. Still believe the lack of stalks is way worse of an issue.. Okay people in Texas with 5 lights on a 100mile trip won't have an issue, but anyone in like European countries with a billion roundabouts, simply won't buy this car only for this 1 reason. "You'll get used to it": hell no! Tried it, it sucked. Talked with owners, it's shit. Chatted with potential buyers, they opted for a byd instead, simply to indicate to the right direction rather than causing issues. This 'we are so innovative, that in a few years time not even a steering wheel will be required, there you go, here's a joystick (without any buttons)' attitude is just dumb. They lose millions on this dumb decision.. At least have an optional stalk for 1k.. 99% of buyers would get one, and 50% of them would be a new tesla customer. We can praise tesla for their innovativeness, but these things are stupid..
