That door handles are shaved and there are sensors mounted on the body of a prototype for camera position calibration does not mean that this is the final body design. Camera placement can be preserved close enough while the body morphs under them. With two rival already having trucks in early production, I'd bet that Mr Musk has returned to the drawing board several times to incorporate some of their ideas and ones from Berin and Shanghai. He's no longer in the position where he can release a vehicle with any flaws or inadequacies as happened with the early runs of Sportster, Models X, S and 3. His new models must be best in their classes.

The European price differences of the Model Y are not actually 'all over the place', as stated at 7:54. It's just that Tesla obviously want to keep the right-hand drive (RHD) models priced the same (i.e. Ireland [EUR] & UK [GBP]) while the left-hand drive (LHD) models are probably all priced the same as each other in those European countries where LHD is used.

Some curves would be nice. Not a lot, I like the utilitarian look, but it's too much to like the look. I think stamping the doors below bend line seams. Making them slightly concave and then blending the concave door with the front and back fenders. Still be a little different looking with concave doors, but the curves, I think, would let utilitarian look flow better. And it'd be pretty easy to do. Basically a saddle press press

I have no idea which geographical markets Tesla are aiming the Cyber Truck at, but it isn't going to sell particularly well here in Japan as it will be classified as a commercial vehicle with all the financial disadvantages that entails. It is also huge, which means that few will have the necessary parking space to obtain an official parking certification from the police and will therefore not be able to register it. That said, it will likely sell well for those who can afford it and can easily overcome the obstacles noted. I can envisage that it will become the new fad item amongst some celebrities and well-paid professionals which the Land Rover Defender is currently the 'in-thing' (Japan specific). Assuming that the Cyber Truck ever makes it to the shores of Japan at all that is. However, when you consider that there are only two pickups (Toyota Hi-lux Surf & Jeep Gladiator) available in the market (other than the tiny 'kei' trucks), it is a 50/50 split of yay or nay.

The Starlink phased array antenna is just a flat PC board with some small components on it. It could easily fit in the roof of a Tesla, giving the car access to a LOT more bandwidth. The functionality could easily be worked into the rooves of certain cars, & could even be invisible, or close to it. MUCH better than sharing a measly 1-2Mb with everyone else in your cell.
@alanmay79292 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it won’t move like the dish which means not stable connectivity
@svOcelot2 жыл бұрын
@Alan, I suspect you don't understand phased array antennas. There is NO need for the antenna to move. Many (most?) folks using in on mobile platforms (RVs & boats) disable the motors, & they've found that it works BETTER this way. "Dishy" isn't a "dish" in the normal sense at all. The beam is steered electronically in 1ms, & can be directed out ~45 deg from the direction it's pointing, just like the antennae on the birds.

A year came it went, and I understood. Hey, what's a few more months right? Wrong! Another year came, I was disappointed, but again Tesla can be good at making you give into their excuses! Around the 3rd year coming and going and Elon tweeting or putting out that they haven't even started production yet, AND that it will now cost MORE money and even those of us who paid upfront would have to pay that extra cost. I've requested my money back. I know Tesla would never steal anyone's money, they said I'll b be getting my money back. But it's not an overnight process, I want a truck in my driveway or my money back in the next 6 months or you'll hear of me suing the shit out of Tesla.
